Anna Shoemaker – ‘Feels Like’

About Anna Shoemaker

25-year-old Anna Shoemaker creates music that propels her well beyond the realm of singer/songwriter. Drawing elements of indie-pop, alt-rock, R&B, and hip-hop combined with her dreamy, hypnotic vocals, Shoemaker has created a unique hybrid that undoubtedly stands out.

Raised in Philadelphia, now Brooklyn based, Shoemaker credits the expansive Philly independent music scene and her college experience as both major influences for her sound and writing. While at the University of Colorado, the budding artist would perform with just her acoustic guitar, which led to the alt-rock/pop sound that is embedded into her music today. Once Shoemaker moved back to Philadelphia, she incorporated elements of the city’s underground hip hop and R&B scene. Shoemaker masterfully blends many genres from hip-hop to alt/rock to create her signature sound today.

GRAACE – ‘You Do You’

About GRAACE

Aussie artist GRAACE gets ready to deliver her new dynamic with a no-holds-barred single, “You Do You,” hitting airwaves next week. The rising 22-year-old has seen a slew of successes over the past few years, having garnered acclaim from the likes of Pop Sugar, The FADER, Ladygunn, The Line of Best Fit, Triple J, and several New Music Friday’s placements.

Coming down one Christmas in her early teens to find a guitar, microphone and amp under the tree, gifted to her by her father, Grace Pitts’ life’s work began without her even truly realizing. Playing classical piano from an early age and singing around the house, she had an inkling that her real talent may lie within songwriting. Grace first took to writing folk songs but ultimately found herself gravitating back to the piano and to poppier climates, where she found her niche.

GRAACE was catapulted as an artist to watch when the single “Numb,”- a track she co-wrote and performed with Hayden James- hit platinum and received over 66M streams. GRAACE released her strikingly honest and raw SELF SABOTAGE EP in 2018, which features her hit single “Last Night” (over 23M streams on Spotify alone). You may have also fallen in love with her dance-inducing singles, “21st Century Love” and “Go Have Fun At Your Party” in 2019.

Amber Jay is now working towards releasing her debut EP – due out early 2021. This unique collection of work takes an original direction that promises to deliver a series of bold animated tracks, which will prove to be a notable turning point within her artist career.

Amber Jay’s musical journey began at the age of thirteen when her Aunt gifted her guitar lessons, flowing from there into composition GCSE courses and she has been writing consistently ever since. “I would write songs at night, in the dark and on my bedroom floor forever in fear of my parents hearing me sing and asking what I was doing”. Drawing on the connection of character narrative, Amber Jay has always been fascinated by the relationship between music and screen. This influence can be felt in the cinematic moods in the experimental production of her music while also pulling on those emotional chords from Amber’s songwriting abilities.

Daníel Hjálmtýsson – ‘Volatile’

About Daníel Hjálmtýsson

Icelandic artist Daníel Hjálmtýsson is releasing his debut EP on November 20th, 2020.

\Collaborating with his band and special guests Belgian veterans Aldo Struyf, Lyenn and the Dutsch Red Limo Quartet (Mark Lanegan Band, Millionaire, Dans Dans and more) and local talents, Daníel explains his music as a certain form of musical expressionism.

Think dark, beautiful, melancholia of late Bowie, Joy Division and Tindersticks meeting forceful and synth driven rock spawned from Queens of The Stone Age with influences of prog and electronica. Think delicate poetry in the vein of Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Mark Lanegan (who has praised the artist publicly) and think Iceland and the natural landscapes that the music draws it´s inspiration from. Then you might have an idea of what Daníel Hjálmtýsson sounds like.
