Prudence – ‘Smile & Nod’

About Prudence

Prudence is the output of a session bass player and composer that thinks too much.

Prudence (moniker of Tom Crandles -Au.Ra) lays an idiosyncratic vision, a strange journey into a world that is heavy and addictive. The pieces are electric yet effortless; a natural disaster of dissonance and melody, drawing on his own tragic comedy and capturing vagaries from relationships to addictions; euphoria, ache, uncertainty, joy and bitterness are all expressed within the constraints of his infectious songs.

Gallery Circus – ‘255’

About Gallery Circus

Adapting their name from the infamous ‘Gallery Cabaret’ in Logan Square, Chicago, Gallery Circus began in this open mic party spot when the brothers decided to move to the USA and befriend the DIY punk scene, playing shows across makeshift venues in the city. After another year slumming and gigging around America’s west coast, they decided to swim back across the pond and released their début single Supercell. This song was featured as Radio 1’s BBC Introducing track of the week. Dan and Graeme played a great number of key festivals including Glastonbury (where their Sunday performance on the BBC Introducing stage was voted as one of the top 25 performances of the weekend by the BBC), boardmasters, Kendal Calling and YNot.

Seabiscuit – ‘Turbo’

About Seabiscuit

When listening to the Gothenburg based act Seabiscuit, you enter a strange little world of its own. The sounds captivate you and suck you in, and once you’re in – you want to stay there and hide forever.

You find yourself enjoying the forgotten soundtrack of a suggestive retro video game that never existed, combined with lo-fi guitars playing mystical adorable notes. The atmosphere created by the music tells you a story, and you can almost see it pan out in front of you. A distorted drum beat is blasting away in the horizon, and dreamy crisp chords are spreading out across the vivid coloured sky. You like it here. This could definitely be your home. Here comes the next song, and it’s a beautiful lonely guitar strumming away in the darkness, sounding as if it was played in another time. I’ll never leave this place, you think to yourself while closing your eyes tighter and tighter.
