Bitter Calm – ‘Night Stand’
About Bitter Calm
Bitter Calm is a band whose beginning is marked by endings.
Following the death of his father, the end of a relationship, and the dissolution of the band Velouria all in a month’s time, Michael Harp’s life was irreversibly shifted and stripped of all familiarity at the age of 19.
The outpouring of music that followed sought to document this new reality, while searching far into his family’s past for answers to questions he never had the opportunity to ask.
Bitter Calm is what comes next, with the help of violinist Meg Ford, members from Velouria, a box full of video tapes, and a hand-me-down watch that doesn’t tell the time. They write loud, slow songs about love and death, and they’ve never had so much fun.
Bitter Calm is a band from Birmingham, AL that makes loud, slow songs about love and death.

Bridal Party – ‘Too Much’
About Bridal Party
Bridal Party formed in 2015 within the close-knit and vibrant music scene of Victoria, BC. The twining together of Suzannah Raudaschl and Joseph Leroux’s songwriting aesthetics, Bridal Party recorded their debut EP ‘Hot Daze’ in the basement of Suzie’s house and spent the next year and a half playing as many shows as they were able. The band’s sound is groove-based and textural, drawing from neo-soul as much as it does popular indie. Their lyricism veers from the childish to the brusquely personal. Most recently Bridal Party has released double-single ‘Feed Me or Leave Me’ via Toska Tapes and Holy Smokes Blog. The first single ‘Fruitless’ off their upcoming EP ‘Negative Space’ is set to release kicking off a cross-Canada tour. The full EP will follow upon their return.

Prospa – ‘Intended’
About Prospa
Flying high off their underground hit ‘Prayer’, and having just performed an exclusive minimix on Radio 1’s Rave Lounge on Friday, Leeds based electronic duo Prospa are back with ‘Intended’- a pulsing tribute to 90’s garage house.
‘Prayer’ catapulted Prospa into the heart of the underground. Picked by Annie Mac as her Hottest Record In The World and receiving heavy support from the likes of The FADER, Dummy and Mixmag, it’s safe to say the boys hit the ground running. The tune garnered remixes from contemporaries like DJ Seinfeld, Will Easton and ABSOLUTE.
‘Intended’ is a tune indebted to the rough-cut, soulful production style that brought garage to the forefront of UK club culture in the early 90’s. Prospa however are in no way dated; their ear for melody is rooted in the experimental house that’s currently bubbling under the surface of Leeds. Their gritty mix blends saw-like synths around swirling, almost ethereal pads that shine and shimmer out of focus. Completed by an emblazoned vocal lead, harkening back to the fervent melodies of disco inspired house- this is one for the deep cutters.
