SIAMAKI – ‘The Odds’
About SIAMAKI
SIAMAKI is an independent R&B/Soul artist, based in London. She returns with her new single ‘The Odds’, out today.
The singer’s latest single The Odds is a chilled, soothing, slinky vibe. SIAMAKI explains, “I wrote the song about the complexities of the relationships we form and how damaging they can be to your sense of self-worth. I wanted the melodies to be slightly unpredictable and uncomfortable to reflect this, playing on the concept of risk”.
In 2017, SIAMAKI self-released her debut EP ‘Ritual’ which caught the attention of BBC 1Xtra DJ Jamz Supernova. Her follow-up single ‘Bare’ continued to gain national UK radio airplay and hit top #15 on the Submit Hub R&B Chart. With her most recent release ‘Wonderland’, SIAMAKI landed one of Spotify’s biggest playlists ‘Fresh Finds’ in addition to ‘Fresh Finds: Poptronix. More recently, her release ‘Chasing Water’ produced by Joe Turner, was premiered on Reprezent radio. It was supported by some key publications such as Chill Therapy, Purple Melon and Iggy Magazine.
With more music in the pipeline, 2020 is looking to be a big year for the incredibly soulful R&B singer as she paves her way in the future soul scene.

1.0.8. – ‘Sawdust & Hay’
About 1.0.8.
Following on from last years sessions with family members at Post Electric Studios in Edinburgh (Calum Stewart – The Ninth Wave, and India Stewart – filmmaker) Andrew has written and recorded five new musical offerings under the name ‘1.0.8.’, working in collaboration with musician and producer Jason Odle, (at Developing Sounds in North Yorkshire) who works closely with Billie Marten, Litany and Ella Grace. The tracks follow on from Stewarts previous dream-like soundscapes, with the new tunes providing a nod and a wink to earlier musical genres, and sprinkled throughout with observations of life in 2020.
Originally from Glasgow, Andrew Stewart lives in North Yorkshire and works on a wide range of visual and music based projects involving both internationally renowned artists and emerging artistic talent.
The EP ‘Nine Times Twelve’ has involved a growing number of musicians and other creatives, with the idea of extending this process to the writing and recording of five new tracks throughout the summer months.
The well known and highly talented ‘Magical’ Dave Dunn-Birch played Sousaphone, Tenor Horn, Trombone, and Tuba on the ‘Magical Days’ track along with Joe Roughton who played Trumpet and Flugal Horn. Scarlett and India Stewart sung backing vocals on ‘SIRENS’ and were also actively involved with the staging, directing, filming and photography for the forthcoming videos’ which will accompany each track. 1.0.8. also coaxed on board the Edinburgh based cinematographer Sergiu Timar – who when not filming Scottish Premier Division football matches has been making music videos for several successful Scottish bands.

Carey Clayton – ‘I Wish I Had My Bicycle’
About Carey Clayton
Carey Clayton is carving out a unique space in modern music. As an introspective and poised songwriter, he draws his inspiration from the likes of Bon Iver, Radiohead, and Biblio — and you can feel it. His conceptually dense musical collages run through an acid wash of electronic manipulations, twisting guitars, and tactile percussion. But what’s most striking is the subtle, magnetic ways in which he orchestrates tension and release.

Seraphina Simone – ‘Hollywood $$$’
About Seraphina Simone
Seraphina Simone is a beguiling mix. On the one hand she’s a hard-working London nerd, who studied at Oxford and has done every crap job under the sun to support her music.
On the other she is musical aristocracy, although the term makes her cringe. Her father is the musician Terence Trent D’Arby aka Sananda Maitreya. Holidays when she was a girl meant long trips through California, brushing shoulders with everyone from George Harrison to Billy Idol, or being babysat by Pamela Des Barres. Some artists might claim their ‘godparents’ were Prince, Miles Davis, Christie Hynde, Pete Townsend and Mary Greenwell. Seraphina’s actually were.
A childhood only takes you so far. From all these influences, from her deep-South pastor grandfather, and a heritage that is black, Greek, Irish and Cherokee, Seraphina Simone has created a sound that’s wholly her own. These are smart, sun-drenched tales of heartbreak and longing, queer sultry odes to the bad decisions you wished you hadn’t made and the ones you wished you had.
If you listen out for BANKS or Lana Del Ray or Bat for Lashes or Lorde, then you might hear traces, as well as the ghosts of Human League, Blondie, New Order and Cyndi Lauper. These are the songs of a young woman finding a path through an impossible 21st century.
But she is also none of the above: wholly sui generis. In her hands the ordinary becomes uncanny. With her head in London and her heart in California, Seraphina Simone has written the soundtrack to this longest and strangest of summers.

Fox Royale – ‘Out of My Hands’
About Fox Royale
Crafting soaring, jangly indie-rock that sparkles with the same energy as Cold War Kids, Cage the Elephant, and Vampire Weekend, Fox Royale can make music about things like emotional insecurities, breakups, and family breakdowns sound almost joyful.
“We’re trying to tackle [millennial anxieties] in such a way that doesn’t sound naive, which is hard because we’re as young as the people listening,” says vocalist/guitarist Nathan Hurley. “It’s bright sounding. A lot of it sounds happy. It’s not just one line that’s super catchy. We want every line to get stuck in your head.”
