The announcement came at the beginning of their livestream concert at The Cheese And Grain in Frome, England on February 24th, exactly four months prior to their scheduled gig at Glastonbury. Foo Fighters have long been rumored to be headlining this year after they were forced to pull their slot at 2015’s festival because of frontman Dave Grohl’s broken leg. The livestream and announcement arrive after fans this week received tickets from a fictional airline with a pyramid-shaped logo in Foo Fighters branded slips, along with the launch of a FF-branded website with the countdown to their Frome concert and Glastonbury announcement. Foo Fighters are the second band to be officially confirmed to play this years Glastonbury, following Radiohead’s confirmation back in October. English rapper and Boy Better Know member, Wiley, has self-confirmed himself for the festival, while rumored acts include country icon Kris Kristofferson, singer Ed Sheeran, and influential new-wave band Depeche Mode. Glastonbury 2017 will run from June 21-15.
