We feel more than excited for tonight’s exclusive video premiere on Last Day Deaf by the Swedish dark wave mistress Memoria and her meteoric 3rd single ‘Canary‘, taken from the upcoming 2nd album ‘From The Bones‘. Do not expect long intros, this one is a manic dark wave vortex, right from the start, with authoritative vocals reminiscent of Chelsea Wolfe & Light Asylum, a superb and ultra addictive synth line that cuts like razor, bombarding rhythm and last but not least accompanied by a great visualizer directed by Tess de la Cour.

A magnum opus, a definitive instant classic, “about war, death, escape and tough decisions. Man is evil but it’s not over, so it’s time to wake up!”

Press Notes:

Swedish darkwave queen Memoria releases the third single ‘Canary’ from her coming second album ‘From The Bones’. ‘Canary’ is a song about war, death, escape and tough decisions. Man is evil but it’s not over, so it’s time to wake up! As usual, Tess and her faithful squire Rikard Lind are responsible for the production, this time with extra help from Christian Hutchinson Berg (Kite).

Memoria is Tess de la Cour’s solo darkwave/postpunk project. Her debut album ‘Cravings’, gave us a dark, beautiful and energetic darkwave. Rumbling synths, monotonous drumming and an ominous guitar built an atmosphere that grabbed you from the first note. All draped with Tess’ powerful voice.
