Your Local Dance Hall started in March 2020 as a quarantine project. Feeling stir crazy and not up for making sourdough, husband and wife duo Chris and Ashleigh Reade recorded an album using only the equipment they had at home: an iPhone, the microphone on some old earbuds, and an amateur knowledge of Garageband. Two years later, they are writing again and releasing a single in advance of their next EP that will drop this summer. While pandemic restrictions have eased, the basic premise for Your Local Dance Hall remains the same: write music that makes you want to move, and record it using the equipment within your reach.
