What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

Back in 2016, conditions were quite optimal for us to start a band, we were three friends basically killing time so we decided to compose our own music. We had a lot of spare time so we lock ourselves in our rehearsal space during 8 months. We recorded our first LP by ourselves and Pamplemousse was born. Feedbacks from our first gigs were quite tremendous: we met our manager at that time who promoted the album and we received quite nice media feedbacks. The machine was on the move!

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

It’s a Ten tracks album recorded and mixed in 8 days at the Black Box Studio in France. We have worked with producer Peter Deimel (Chokebore, Shellac, Cows..) . It will be released by The French Label A Tant Rêver du Roi. Compare to our first album the songs don’t last more than 4 minutes. I would say this album is more intense and “in your face”.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

Music: Gun Club, Fugazi, André Williams

Non Music: Photography, Barjavel, Cassavetes

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

We are a kind of noise “blues” band. All of us have completely different influences and makes us sound singular .. We do rehearse a lot because we want to record live on tape . Usually we make a record in 8 days including mixing. We don’t like to spend too much time in the studio. It makes our record sound live and Authentic.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

Rl Burnside “Burnside on Burnside”, Do Make Say Think “Goodbye Enemy Airship” , The Jesus Lizard “Goat”

The limits of control by Jim Jarmush, Terminator by James Cameron,

Vertigo (Paul Auster), Le Voyageur Imprudent (Barjavel), Keep Your Eyes open (Glen e Friedmann)

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

It is completely different things but we like both.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

Our first show we had in mainland France was in Paris supporting UNSANE in 2017. When time has come for the soundcheck it appeared that we had forgotten all the guitar pedals and cymbals at the other side of paris .I think we were too excited to play with these guys. After a long run across Paris we got everything on time and the show was amazing!

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

I think “Suffocating” on the first Album. It was the beginning of the band and we had only one idea. We jammed for days and the song came out from the 3 of us. It was a very pleasant feeling.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

It s not easy for us to go on tour in Europe because we live in Reunion island but we would like to tour as much as possible to promote the new album.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity.

In which country would you like to perform ?

ICELAND!
