What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.
I don’t really know when I felt in love of music. I like building and creating things why my mind. It’s a feeling that I’m looking for in all the things I do.
It was a long way to start Mokado. It’s a projet, I was thinking about during 3 years before to launch it. I’m really happy right now to this decision.
Provide us with some info about your latest release…
My latest release is a bridge between my first EP “The Lives Of Others” and the new one which will be out in the end of the year. “Roland – EP” is the first EP where I introduce my new instrument : Marimba, in my music and the EP which closes “The Lives Of Others”. I’ve always wanted to rework my song “Roland” to give it a second life.
Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?
I’m really in love of all the artists in Erased Tapes catalog. The way they create music and atmosphere around. Also in musician of cinematic music as Johann Johannsson or Max Richter.
In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?
My sound is a mix between electronic sound and natural sound. I try to cloud the issue and tell a story about the people I met briefly in my life with music and sound.
Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…
A single Man – Tom Ford (movie)
Superpoze – For We The Living (music)
Erik Satie – Gymnopédies
Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?
Maybe more live because I need indirection with people to feel fully happy. But it’s always a pleasure to create something from nothing like I said before.
Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?
4 years ago, I was ready to start my projet Mokado but someone stole my computer in a bar and I lost all my work (with no backup of course). At this moment, It was really tough. But now I see this as a good thing because It push me to challenging my self and produce more good music.
Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?
“Roland – Rework” because it’s the essence of my music.
Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?
I’m working on my new EP for the end of the year.
