What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.
First I played classical piano music in childhood.I had my first garage band at the age of 9. I studied film and sound design at Finland’s Aalto University. I worked as a sound editor and designer, but more and more I found myself as a film music composer.
Provide us with some info about your latest release…
“16mm” is a somber and hypnotic ballad performed on theremin, piano, and double bass captured with a gritty noir-inspired sound. Retro but ultra hi-fi, the dark sound of the past modernized. The sonic equivalent of the way 16mm movies look.
Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?
Ryuichi Sakamoto, Queen, Zimmer, Sibelius.
In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?
Obviously theremin is quite unique.
I have never studied composing. I have studied sound design and film, that is my musical background. I think my music is cinematic in a good way.
