What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

Sábila: Well first say thanks for this interview, really we both appreciate it too much. Humanfobia (human /// fobia= phobia in Spanish) (the name is like that intentionally for make more easy the search on the web) I founded this at the end of 2011 as a project of experimental music, a solo project mine. From 2012 to 2015 was focused on dark synth, glitch & ambient genres. Later in 2015 joins Mist Spectra as a visual support and keyboards. On that new stage (2015 to 2017) the project turns his sound on a dark ambient, creepy noise mix with me on vocals. Something without lyrics and no language, only with screams and strange voice sounds. And apart we begin to send our albums to netlabels without commercial purposes. Was years with a lot of collaborations with dark ambient and noise artists. But later our music continue changing into something more dark yet. At the beginning of 2018 we decided turn to my partner Mist Spectra as lead vocalist. Also adding lyrics on Spanish, but apart continuing with using reverse voice effects and weird effects for some tracks.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

Mist: Our most recent work is called: “Esoterika” was released by our own netlabel: Witch Spectra. Is a mixture of witch house, dark ambient, and of course full of experimental creepy sounds. Is totally free for download from bandcamp, archive.org and the free music archive like the 90% of our works. Some of our albums are in netlabels with pay option. But is for the profit of that netlabels and not for us.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

Mist: musically there aren’t specific projects but yes genres like: dark ambient, darkwave, glitch, noise and others. We mix all that for create something very obscure and mad. But not aggressive, we try to make something avant-garde and psychedelic.
And also we have influences from world of movies: horror, sci-fi, but mainly Japanese horror. But our biggest influence and inspiration are the paranormal ghost research, all about EVP sessions, cemeteries, residual energies, spiritual orbs, and that kind of strange things.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

Sábila: the most important thing to say, is that each of our works are different between them, if you listen one and you don’t like it, maybe if you listen another you would like that. We want to create new strange and unusual sensations in the listener, express something without a specific genre. But always with a dark spooky touch. We mix dark ambient, noise, witch house, glitch, sound collage, vaporwave, trash rave and other styles. So we sound very different to any music you’ve heard before.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

Sábila: We like studio nothing in live. We are people with serious communication problems. Our sociability with others is always bad.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

Mist: Always the funny thing is people who want to make collaborations, splits, single tracks with us, but zero compatibility of sound. Metal, hip-hop, gothic rock, aggrotech and a lot of more artists who imagine that can make something with us. But we only work with people similar to our music, and of course that we like their sound. We can’t create something with someone who don’t like our music, or that don’t support us previously.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

Mist: Colapso Dimensional of our latest album, because is one of the most ghostly tracks that you can listen in all the planet.

Sábila: Winchester Curse, because we put too much effort on create it, and really for me is a magical work.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

Mist: Well we think in 2019 make some collaborations with very cool and strange people. (normal for us) and release a full album with these tracks. Talk about make videos is something bored, always our listeners ask why we don’t make videoclips. And the funny thing is that we did some months ago, but the result was hilarious, they have few views, and almost nothing of support. So we will totally abandon that idea. We prefer express something with pictures and of course with our music.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

Someday humanfobia will be Humanfobia physical material?

Mist: the answer is no, because we are digital ghosts in the middle of nowhere. We are spiritual, not material.
