What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.
Fun Balloon Animals are a collaboration of Hertfordshire UK artists, that have come together through their love of 80’s Alternative / Post Punk music and Horror Movies.
Provide us with some info about your latest release…
Frankenstein – A Post Modern Prometheus is a musical journey through Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein that lifts some of the narration straight from the book, whilst leaving room for the listener to ‘draw the dots’ via instrumental interludes between the story telling.
Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?
Music: Joy Division, The Cure, The Cult /Southern Death Cult
Films: Classic Universal and Hammer Horror films. Halloween, American Werewolf In London, The Incredible Dr Phibes, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Return of the Living Dead and The Banana Splits
In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?
The musical structure is that of 80’s post punk but the intent is leveled differently, basing the songs on a narrative basis opposed to hook or vocal melody. This makes for a more challenging, but, we ague, a more satisfying listen. You really need to listen to the LP as a whole as some of the songs may sound odd without being in their particular, set placing in the narrative.
Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…
(LP) Love – Forever Changes, (Film)To Kill A Mokingbird, (Book)IT – Stephen King

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?
Live – so we can dress up and break things
Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?
I once, Spinal Tap like, got lost backstage at the Brixton Academy (UK ) went through the wrong door and ended up on the stage as the headline act were in full swing
Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?
I think the Author of Your Ruin is probably the most unique, mixing synth pop with the low growl that’s usually commonplace in Death Metal (the song represents the creature vocalising his disappointment at being abandoned by his creator)
Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?
Werewolf. There Wolf!!
Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…
