What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come tobe in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

My experiences are all about my perspective; Immigrant or World Traveler, Drug Addict or Therapeutic Researcher, Outlaw or Lessons Learner, Asshole Boyfriend or Opportunity for Growth… I’m devoted to art in all it’s forms because it makes me a better human being, I’m definitely not a musical savant.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

Bulletproof Glass House Butterfly Queen” is such a provocative phrase, the theme describes the fragility of our egos, emotions, and desire for connection but it’s in our nature to develop defense mechanisms to protect ourselves, sometimes these armors become issues that are not in the best interest of our needs, wants hopes, and dreams. The BDSM imagery of the visual depicts the control we seek in relationships after issues of mistrust, dishonesty, and infidelity creep into our lives.
Features Midian (Writer; Sandcastles for Beyonce’s Lemonade)
Produced by Chris Wright (Producer; T.I., Ludacris, Wale)
Directed by Edwin Escobar (Director; Dave East, Crooked I)

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

Ex-girlfriends music tastes & my social media feed.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-relatedartists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

Footwerk brings diverse musicians together to create a landscape that helps capture the mood of Kyles storytelling. Our differences seem to divide us these days and Footwerk is about leaving it all behind in the pursuit of a more harmonic future… It’s Indie, It’s Alternative, It’s Hip-Pop, It’s Future Funk, It’s Elctrobeat, It’s Rapping. It’s Singing. It sounds like The 90’s smelled.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

Performing. That’s me, in my element and we do it well. I’m going on my first national tour in October with Myke Bogan, so you have to come see for yourself! You have to go thru the studio to get to the stage too.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

The original formation of Footwerk was thru craigslist. RIP Casual Encounters. I’ll miss you.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

I’d like to think our track ‘Monsters’ but ‘Retrograde’ gets the best response and most attention.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

1st National Tour in October w/ Myke Bogan starts October 11th in my hometown, Washington, DC at Tropicalia. Check www.footwerkband.com for the dates and details!

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

When I go on tour in October, I want to link with one person from every city to be my tour guide/ambassador! Who’s trying to link? Hit me up @footwerkband!
