9+1 Q&A with Flagman

What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

Our conception was dirty. Cody and I (Sam) were jamming and writing together for almost two years before we begged Grant on bended knee enough for him to actually start playing shows with us.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

Mr. Fries is a slime covered grease ball of a song about asking yourself “When is enough enough?”

Which would you consider to be your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise ?

Music: Primus, Mr. Bungle, Joe Satriani, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd

non-Music: long walks on the beach, having diarrhea, and huffing paint.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

Our sound walks on its belly like a reptile. Our music slithers down yer gullet and worms it’s way into yer ears. It could use a good wash. Listen at yer own risk.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

We prefer playing live. The studio gives us the wet slipperies. Live performance also allows for more interaction with angry drunk people.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

My personal favorite memory is screaming Buffalo Soldier the entire way back from St. Augustine to keep from falling asleep at the wheel

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

To this point, I think that Mr. Fries is probably our most unique song.
It was conceived, like most of the material on our forthcoming album, by all
three of us. Our powers combined created the dirtiest, slimiest, smelliest music to crawl across land on its belly.

We have a video for Mr. Fries coming out Valentine’s Day and a lot more new music <3
