What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

I would have to say my guitarist Matty Fads, he was the one who got me into singing and music in the first place and always pushed me to try new things and he really helped me understand how to use what I have and bring out the uniqueness of it all. He was so hard on me, every time I showed him a new track, I legit just wanted his approval, so I kept going until he gave it haha.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

Moon all started when I heard a mates Insta story, he was playing those keys, so I asked if I could sample them and he said yes of course and sent them right over. I wanted to make something super sensual and airy, because that is the feeling I get when I look at the moon. There is no better way to create that atmosphere, than with vocal pads that are spaced out, so once I put those in the track, the rest kind of just came out.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

Offt!! Music wise, I would have to say vocally, Boyz ii Men, all the harmony and layering was just done better than anyone else in the game (in my humble opinion that is). Sonically I grew up listening to Trance music and techno.. So I wanted that same euphoric feeling, but something with a lil more bounce and less doof doof, even though I love the doof doof, so I’d say it’s a mix between Tiesto and SG Lewis haha. At the risk of sounding cheesy, My family will always be my biggest influencers, seeing what they do and succeeding in everything they do, makes me want to do the same.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

I’d say my sound is Electro-Soul and the difference is my voice, People always say to me that I have such a distinct vocal, whether it is in the melodies or the tone of my voice, people are always able to pick me out. I think the soft vocals with the lush production is a real stand out especially here in Aus, but I don’t try to pigeon hole myself to genres, So I like to experiment everywhere, one of the flexibilities/perks of my vocal range.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

Great question! I think MJ – Off The Wall, Frank Ocean – Channel Orange and Alina Baraz with Galamatias – Urban Flora (woweee that is hard. Might sneak in some JBiebs – Journals, that album was dopppeee) Movies would be all the Harry Potters, Ace Ventura, Big daddy, Remember the Titans and the entire Chapelle Show (I know that is a sitcom, but I’m cheating).. Books, I would take the Bible along with all the Harry Potters and I am set.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

Live every time!! You can never replicate the energy of a live show, something new always happens, it shapes you, not only in music but also in life and your character. It is a moment of perfect imperfections and a lifelong connection with everyone who you shared that with, your fans family and bro’s and sister on stage with you.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

My favourite would have to be the night before mine and Matty’s first ever gig.. He called me that morning and said, “Hey bro, I’ll come over tonight and lets run through the set” now Matty and I always call ourselves “One Take” because we never rehearse, we kind of just show up and play.. (so far we’ve had no hiccups haha).. Anyhow, around 5:30pm comes and Matty comes over and I am laying on the couch downstairs half asleep, ready for a nap, directly across me, is another vacant couch, Matty sat down there, next thing we know, it’s 11pm, we both wake up, look at each other, he leaves with no words spoken, we get together the next day and smash the gig no rehearsals.. I’d like to say that has changed, but that would be a lie.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

For me it will always be “Comfort Inn” because I still haven’t heard a beat like that, so lush yet so filthy and the fact that I wrote it while driving home, windows down, perfect breeze coming through the car, and I drove past a old Hippy Van with a massive Jimi Hendrix painted on the side and I remember thinking to myself “wow Jimi was the coolest mother****** out” and I just wanted to write something as cool as Jimi haha. My bro Caleb (Tentendo) who is my 50/50 partner sent me that beat and I asked him if I could have it and he replied “Only if you write something exceptional over it” so after that drive, I opened the track in Logic, setup the mic and free styled it all, sent it to Caleb, I woke up next morning with a message from him saying “I hate you” and that’s how I knew it was now Blush’ko tune haha

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

Yes Of course, I make about 7 tracks a week, most of them are shambles, but the ones that hit, really hit, so I have about 4 albums ready to go. I am releasing a really deep and raw R’n’B / Trap album in November of 2020 which I am so excited because it is nothing like anything I’ve ever done before, I think people are going to think I’ve gone crazy, I’m all about that haha and it will be the first official release from my own label “Lazy House” so keen to get that rolling.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

I would gladly go live in a village in Europe somewhere with no internet, just a home studio setup, and make tunes and grow a veggie patch for the rest of my days. Whilst having a beautiful family kicking it with me.
