What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.
We started playing together because we wanted to experiment on Kleopatra’s compositions, adding to them our own influences from western improvisational music.
Provide us with some info about your latest release…
It is a newly formed band. We lately started playing in gig and art spaces in Athens. Our coming live gig will be at KET in Kypseli. We also want to record live in a studio and do a lot of rehearsals so as to evolve.
Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?
All 3 members of the band have different music preferences such as music from the eastern Mediterranean, African-American or western type improvisational music.
In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?
The sound of the band is acute, sharp, prudent, spontaneous, and smart like the acer (σφένδαμος) with three or five pointed ends.
Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…
For Vasilis Horianopoulos (drums): Afro Blue Impression, A Clockwork Orange and For Whom the Bell Tolls.
For George Lymperiou (guitar): Like Minds, Waking Life, Book of Chang
For Kleopatra Vagia (sazi): AN-KI, The Wall, Erdal Erzincan Baglama Etodu
Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?
Our band prefers live concerts, this is why we want to record live in a studio too.
Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?
We don’t have anything to say here.
Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?
The song we like best is the one titled ACER, because it is the very first one that we recorded and it the one that showed us how to go on.
Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?
Our goal is to share with the audience our work and also record live in a studio while we keep playing together and spend time together so as to explore and find our own sound.
Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…
When is our next concert?
