Omer Gronich – ‘Azure’

About Omer Gronich

Omer Gronich grew up in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, and spent two influential years in London. His love for music came naturally, as he grew up in a musical family. He is closely related to the famous Israeli international artist Shlomo Gronich and Shlomo’s brother, Ilan, who is a world-renowned professor of violin. Omer’s charismatic stage personality burst in primary school, remarkably contradicting his introverted nature. The magical energy which delivers his intimate art, is based on that dichotomy.

Starting at the age of 13 and for nearly ten years since, Omer has led the indie rock band ‘Moofie’ (formerly ‘Line 48’) as the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter. The band achieved impressive feats in the local indie scene as they opened for “InDnegev,” the biggest indie music festival in Israel; they’ve won “Goldsnare,” Israel’s national battle of the bands; and they caught the attention of acclaimed Israeli producer Joseph E-Shine (Meir Banai, Hadag Nahash, Shlomi Shaban,Acollective, Ninet Tayeb), who went on to produce their debut EP “Young & Clueless”.

After many years of touring Tel Aviv’s harsh indie music scene with his band, Omer has decided to search for his own unique road. He isolated himself in his bedroom with just a guitar, a microphone and a computer and created Azure, the first track from his upcoming debut “The Art of Sinking.”

Derek Simpson – ‘FRiENDS’

About Derek Simpson

Derek Simpson is an American recording artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. After gaining success with multiple free album releases on Soundcloud (under the pseudonym Planetarian) from 2013 to 2016, Derek moved from Boston to Long Beach to continue recording his own music and surround himself with other up-and-coming artists in need of songwriting help and production. Layering spacey guitar chords and electric piano lines with dense and introspective wordplay, Derek’s music often explores the value of holding a positive perspective in the face of confusion or adversity. His respect for focus and hard work shows in his recordings, all of which are fully written, produced, composed, and mixed by himself.

Derek has produced music for Kevin Abstract, Dom McLennon, Rockie Fresh and more. His music has also been featured in Comedy Central’s Workaholics.

HUNGER – ‘Light It Up’

About HUNGER

Hailing from the idyllic suburbs of Vienna, Austria, electronic pop/rock band HUNGER first formed in early 2014. Coming off of the success of their band FDTF, childhood friends Daniel Rumpel and Johannes Herbst approached long-term fellow and vocalist Lucas Fendrich with the intention of creating a truly dark and cinematic sound.

In the beginning, the trio was meant to be a songwriting collective focused on epic songs that provoke an immediate, specific feeling within a listener. Standard song structures and melodies were disregarded in favor of the tone and evocation of the music. Perspectives shifted as soon as the band went into studio with British producer Dan Weller in the fall of 2014. The trio couldn’t deny their band roots and ended up with a vast, dark, cinematic sound – and the formation of HUNGER.

HUNGER’s sound is the result of three very different, yet complimentary minds. Although it took time to define their musical direction, the three band mates were able to use their differences to come up with a unique vision in which they were all comfortable and confident. Each member of the trio brings something distinctive to the overall collective.

Carnival Kid – ‘Blackout At The Kindergarten’

About Carnival Kid

Carnival Kid is the solo project of Jovernanté singer Christian Stezycki.

The 11th of November, eleven minutes past 11 o’clock in the morning, sees the beginning of carnival season in Germany. Many people, including myself, don’t really care about this. But the 11th of November 2009, at 9 past 11 A.M., my son saw the light of day. Children born on this day are called “Faschingskinder” in Germany – carnival kids. And since this event changed basically every aspect of my life, including my perception, writing and interpretation of music, I felt it to be a pretty perfect name for a solo project. Carnival also includes the idea of hiding behind a mask, which I am kind of doing in a linguistic sense when I am writing and singing in English (or when I’m writing this pseudo-international text). The kid-part of the name might give a hint to all the struggles you go through in your thirties, but I guess I better leave that to interpretation. And if this description made you laugh your ass off since it’s so cheesy, then that’s also some kind of carnival I suppose…
