What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

i first started playing guitar after playing GuitarHero with friends at parties with friends. i got really good at the game and decided, “why not pick up the real thing?” i started getting serious about singing and playing after my father passed. i derive my moniker “DeadEyeDarter” from the fact that when i first started recording lil videos and my eyes actually roll back showing only the whites.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

my latest release “el Pollo de Negro” (the black chicken) is a collaborative album that features 7 of my closest friends who’ve become more like my chosen family. we all live in different areas across the u.s. and 2 live in canada.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

some of my biggest influences are the same that got me into the kinda music i like ta listen to and play. my biggest influence ta begin with was Hank III, followed closely by Lonesome Wyatt/Those Poor Bastards and Rachel Brooke. the list really just goes on and on from there, but those are the first sounds that pulled my heart into makin the music that i do.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

my sound is really just an older country kinda sound with a touch of dark folk and a splash of blues. i’m pretty much constantly workin on new tunes, so ta keep up ya gotta keep listenin! i’ve only been puttin out music since October 2016, and i started puttin out whole albums in December 2016. right now, i’ve got 9 full length albums and that’s not counting ep.s, singles, a split album with Sadly Al (a terrific gal and outstanding musician), and a best of kinda album… i got allota music fer bein such a new musician.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

my 3 desert island albums would have ta be World’s Greatest Anchor (Rachel Brooke), Satan Is Watching (TPB), and damn near anything by JB Nelson, that dude is my idol, heheheh!

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

i’ve never really played live, besides ta a couple friends at a time, just acoustic. i really enjoy recording and mixing my own music tough. i’ve never been inna “studio” before and nobody else has ever recorded me, but a friend of mine in New York at his own home studio Suspect Studios does my mastering for me, at the time being….

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

funny thing about my music is, when i do play in front of people, my music is so mellow and relaxing apparently… that almost every time somebody falls asleep. they always say they enjoy my music, but it just lulls em off ta dream land. (LOL)

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

Collapse, it is the longest one.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

i try NOT ta plan things, coz my plans never seem ta succeed. i believe that if its meant ta be, the universe will make it happen… kinda hippy-dippy i know, but i also know its true.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

instead of a free question, i’d like ta say thanks. thanks for offering me the opportunity ta tell sum o my tale. i haven’t been at this music thing too awful long (i usta paint and sculpt), so its a real honor ta be recognized as bein worth an interview. when i got asked about doin this, i got all giddy and couldn’t stop grinnin, still haven’t stopped. so, thanks for the chance ta tell sumthing bout myself and maybe spread my music ta more ears. thanks so much!
