The shoegazing heroes Slowdive are back for the first time in 22 years with a brand-new LP, their first since 1995‘s groundbreaking album, ‘Pygmalion’. ‘Sugar For The Pill’, the second single from the new self-titled LP was released along with a geometric-filled, psychedelia-tinged music video to accompany the single. Slowdive previously released the single Star Roving’ in January, with frontman/primary songwriter Neil Halstead stating: “When the band decided to get back together in 2014, we really wanted to make new music. It’s taken us a whole load of shows and a few false starts to get to that point, but it’s with pride and a certain trepidation we unleash ‘Star Roving.’ It’s part of a bunch of new tracks we’ve been working on and it feels as fun, and as relevant playing together now as it did when we first started. We hope folks enjoy it.”

Slowdive’ was recorded at the Courtyard in Oxfordshire and mixed across the pond at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles by Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beach House, The Orwells). To celebrate the announcement the band put on a surprise show at The Garage in London on March 29th, marking their first return to London since their show in December of 1993 at The Garage. The surprise gig was streamed live in it’s entirety on Facebook. Check out the in/out produced video for ‘Sugar For The Pill’, the album art and tracklist, and a list of Slowdive’s tour dates below. ‘Slowdive’ will be available for your repeated listening pleasure May 5th via Dead Oceans.
