The imposing grand piano causing shivers down the spine, the elusive female vocals, the excellent lyrics about “an internal conversation of a woman who’s left her partner after watching him self-destruct constantly for years“, and a grandiose build-up are You Alone’s main virtues by the Pacific Northwest songwriting duo, Christine McAllister and Chad McAllister, or if you prefer Bees in a Bottle. A sublime sample of cinematic folk with gentle slowcore elements.
The song is taken from the upcoming 11 song album, dealing with the hardships of suicide and drugs. The Sun Left and Took the Moon With It, due out on April 14th.
