What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.
In the age of 16 years I was introduced by an older friend to Punk Rock, Post Punk and New Wave.
Soon I learned Electric Guitar by myself. After a while I burnt all the Guitar Learning Books and Tabs and developed my own Guitar Style. That was a great Experience for me . Lol.
I started writing Songs and it quickly became clear that I needed a Band. My first Band was a Post Punk Death Rock Band called “Pleasure Product”.
From that point Bands came and went until today.
Provide us with some info about your latest release…
Trigger Cut is my actual band out of the ashes of Buzz Rodeo. Pretty cool new guys and good and old friends on bass and drums. We founded in May 2018 and started writing new songs. The result is “Buster” We are mainly influenced by bands of the 80th and 90th, and sure, of actual music.
The whole attitude is Punk Rock and what is very special, we are totally D.I.Y.
On Buster you can hear 10 new blasting songs, recorded all analog, because for us, it sounds much better.
Because of we don t have any distribution services and record label, you can get our Stuff only on our Trigger Cut Bandcamp Site. We are shipping worldwide for a low shipping price.
The album is called “Buster”. Buster is the faithful companion of James Kimball(Laughing Hyenas, the Jesus Lizard, Mule, Ghost Forest…) He s a friend on my Facebook and I watched all day these great pictures of his furry friend called Buster. Buster is a bulldog.
The Cover Artwork based on a painting of Georges de la Tour, “The Musicians Brawl” (1630), Implemented by the great Graphic Designer Frederic Bouchet, Sunrise Studios, France.
Our Video on Youtube, “Pony Pony” is directed by the great visual Artist Francesca Bonci, Italy, with art collages by Karolina Staniczek.
Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?
First listening to Bands like Sex Gang Children, The Fall, Gang of Four, Bauhaus, Virgin Prunes, Xmal Deutschland, Cabaret Voltaire….and later I discovered the American Hardcore and Indie Rock. Bands like Hüsker Dü, Sonic Youth, Shellac, The Jesus Lizard…I was totally excited about this new inspiration. But all these genres Specifications are bullshit. I call it just “loud Rock”
My main influences today are Bands like Shellac, Cherubs, Daughters, Buildings, Hoaries, The Hand, to name a few.
Non-music-wise, I would say, that I m worried about the state of the natural environment, the animals and plants and of the destruction of the great and important biodiversity, mainly caused by the greed for profit, power and status symbol.
A complete decay of morality and ethical values, caused by the big bosses of Banks and corporations.
The rage over all this is reflected in the music of Trigger Cut.
In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?
I have heard tons of good bands in my life, and have a big vinyl and CD collection. Our sound is a conglomerate of different styles, and it s just unique. High delayed treble guitars meet a solid bombastic rhythm base. The vocals are the adhesive factor between.
I think, you can t find a specific band which sounds like Trigger Cut.
Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…
First of all, I have to say, the desert island that I really appreciate is a small island in the Mediterranean Sea. I would go there only with 3 albums, no movies or books, because there is plenty of nature and beauty.
Album Nr. 1. Gang of Four – Entertainment
Album Nr. 2 Shellac – At Action Park
Album Nr. 3 the Jesus Lizard – Liar
But if it really rained there, I would take Erazerhead, Brazil and Pulp Fiction.
And one book.
Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?
I like both, studio and playing live. Studio is a creative process for us and live is stimulating because of the interaction with the audience. We can be really powerful on stage. And to be on the road is a really good feeling. You always meet different people, different countries and you always make new experiences.
Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?
Last summer, I visited the Uzeda30th anniversary festival in Sicily, Catania. A really great festival at a cool location directly in front of the beach, in the background the smoking Aetna.
At the first evening I met Jeff Mueller and Fred Erskine from June of 44, also the great guitar player Agostino Tiolotta from Uzeda. Later on I talked to Ryan Duncan from the famous Sickroom Records Label, Chicago.
The evening was fantastic, with Bands like The Ex, Black Heart Procession, Three Second Kiss and of course Uzeda.
I addition to that, I must mention, that I m a real fucking fan of Steve Albini and his recordings.
Next morning we decided to make a trip to the historical Old Town of Catania.
At that evening, Shellac was announced to play at the Uzeda 30th Festival.
Catania was so nice. We enjoyed the environment, the impressions, the people and the delicious food and coffee.
After a while of sightseeing, we bow around the corner when suddenly Steve Albini stood in front of me.. I was so shocked that I thought I had my heart stopped.
“Are you Steve Albini?” my dumb question.lol.
And he answered “Yeah, of course”. We talked a little bit, then we took a funny photo, and that was it.
For me, it was an unforgettable moment in my life.
Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?
I would say “King of inks” is the most unique, it s a complex a very fast composition. It describes the loss of values in our society. The song is about the big money assholes who put their signature without scruples among their questionable businesses.
King of inks rocks like crazy and will be listenable on our new forthcoming video.
Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?
Yeah, our future plans are writing new songs for our second album. And now we start planning some shows in Germany, France, Belgium , the United Kingdom, USA and the whole world.
Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…
What is your biggest wish and desire for 2019/2020?
A new LP Recording with Steve Albini at the Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago, Illinois, and first at all, that the wolrd s situation changes for the better.
