This is the 3rd feature film from an exciting Australian director  Shane Abbess. Who I’m now a big fan of after recently seeing His 2nd feature film “Infini” released in 2015. His previous film is “Gabriel” released in 2008. I’ve yet to see “Gabriel” at this point, but “Infini” blew Me away. A brilliant example of what can be achieved on a low budget and a great deal of imagination. It took elements of films I’ve seen before and added little extra twists to them. These twists gave it a feel of fresh originality. The look and feel of a Hollywood blockbuster, but made for a fraction of the budget.

It feels from the trailer for “The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One” that it will be an even more impressive film. From word of mouth I have heard it certainly is. The trailer focuses on the action aspect of the film, but it feels like it will be so much more than that. An intelligent and thought provoking science fiction film in which the story is apparently told in a non-linear fashion like “Pulp Fiction“.

This quote sums up the feeling I get from the trailer far better than I ever could:

What happens if you mashed up Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Mad Max, District 9, and Quentin Tarantino, then shoved the results into a Blockbuster Video? You’d get The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One, a crazy Australian sci-fi throwback.” – Gizmodo.

It is on release at the moment it Australia, but keep an eye out for the release in other countries of what I do feel will be a really special film that delivers far more than this trailer suggests.
