Alternative americana outfit Rising Appalachia has announced a 14-date spring tour, two of those dates at the fourth annual Safety Harbor Songfest in Safety Harbor, Florida. Also playing at the Songfest are folk duo The Wood Brothers and Fantastic Negrito; the latter of whom was nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album at this years’ Grammy Awards.

Rising Appalachia are just coming off of 2016’s Fertile Grounds Tour in support of their last album ‘Wider Circles‘. The tour was so named to celebrate their partnership with the Permaculture Action Network, an organization that mobilizes concert-goers to come out to one day events to build permaculture systems in cities they live. The bands’ Chloe Smith stated that Rising Appalachia would be “hosting a series of Permaculture Action Days in association with a number of our performance dates with the goal of helping to connect our audiences with tangible on-the-ground action and education“. Singer Leah Song was featured on the just recently released electronic artist The Human Experience’s Phillip Glass remix of ‘Unharnessed‘, check out the song and the tour dates below.
