Neoclassical Suite is a column that will present 7 recent, distinctive tracks of the neoclassical-modern classical-contemporary -and beyond!- music field.

The Players

Claire Bigley

(ambient, neoclassical, new age)

A newcomer to the New Age Piano genre, Claire’s music is created with the intention of calming, empowering, and nourishing the listener. Pianistic and improvisational in nature, each track is a one of a kind in musical flow.

Kawakawa

(neoclassical)

Sam Taylor was born in Kawakawa in The Bay of Islands, New Zealand. Whisked off to England as a baby, his young self grew to imagine Kawakawa as a mythical, utopian and distant paradise on the other side of the world that he would one day return to. Echoes of this childhood fantasy can be heard in the music of Kawakawa and Taylor’s own brand of apocalyptic-torch-song.

Andrei Poliakov

(neoclassical, cinematic)

Andrei Poliakov is a professional musician, composer and producer, who received a fundamental classical music education as a pianist and an oboist in Russia, continued with the professional musical career performing with world-renowned orchestras, later diversifying his musical taste and capacity into jazz, rock, and pop genres, performing and recording with various bands and solo.

Since 2012 Andrei has been living in Switzerland, Geneva, engaging into various professional activities both in artistic and business domains.

The foundation of Andrei’s works is a well-educated classical, romantic soundscape, but as soon as the music begins, it starts looking for cross-over opportunities to develop into an exciting house-party, jazz, pop, or electronic music, all these easily transforming to warm classical follow-ups – hence the eclectic style which helps Andrei tell better stories without words.

Andrei treats a musical genre as an additional color for the compositions, like seasoning in food; these colors help him get across the emotions and tell the stories to the listener with better precision and stronger impact:

Sharon Lynn Makarenko

(neoclassical, ambient)

Sharon Lynn Makarenko is a multi-instrumental musician and composer, living on a little island off the west coast of Canada. Studying classical piano from an early age, she continued her studies into her early twenties, completing specializations in piano performance and pedagogy.

She has continuously enjoyed an active musical career participating in numerous musical projects and collaborations of various genres. She has written extensively and performed everything from classical to folk to rock. Her work has been featured in film and television as well as on many of the world’s top neoclassical radio stations and numerous playlists. She is also the Canadian Ambassador for World Peace Berlin, in cooperation with the United Nations, where her music has also been featured.

Minimal and contemplative, her music is influenced by her classical roots…from Bach and Chopin to Philip Glass and Johann Johannsson. She is fascinated with the human experience…of the passing of time, of distance, and the space between, how we relate to these things, and through these, to each other…the human experience of love and loss, and the beauty found in the smallest moments.

Eamonn Watt

(neoclassical, solo piano)

My name is Eamonn Watt, aka The Virtual Conductor and I’m the one and only composer for Virtually Conducted Productions! I’m 25 years old and I live in the Shetland Islands, the most northern isles of the UK. I have received a First Class Applied Music Degree from the University of the Highlands and Islands in August 2016 . Along with composition, I am a drummer and percussionist of many genres. I’ve performed in rock bands, heavy metal bands, funk bands and traditional Scottish music sessions.

I started making compositions during my last years in high school in 2010 and became fully realised in 2012 during my first year in college where I created my debut virtual classical album, Bonhoga. I successfully launched this album at the Bonhoga Gallery where it received high amounts of acclaim from music fans ranging from classical music lovers to heavy metal enthusiasts.

I use Bandcamp as my main hub for showing these musical works as it does take me a while to compile together a completed album of musical works and I like showing what completed songs I have so far. I post work-in-progresses of compositions and even some non-classical music as well. https://thevirtualconductor.bandcamp.com

Mark Sutton

(neoclassical)

Mark Sutton is a composer and musician who creates background and theme music with a reflective and nostalgic appeal from his studio in Dorset. His masterful approach to digital orchestration gifts him the ability to compose to brief or to picture. For his non-commissioned work, Mark doesn’t set out with a mission to create a particular piece; instead, he arrives at his pieces, guided by his fingers and directed by his soul.

Since an early age, Mark has been a master of his piano and takes inspiration from an eclectic mix of modern and classical composers and artists, from Chopin to Coldplay, there’s something there for Mark to source from.

Mark’s work combines orchestrated and pure piano tunes, it’s the perfect ’study’ music, and guides the mind, body and soul towards feelings of contentment and peace during the times you wish to relax and unwind.

His 2016 album Quest of The Spirit, offers up 12 tracks of discovery, tracks that chart the evolution of the soul’s journey, an internal voyage everyone takes. Every note, every rise and fall in the music, maps out the way ahead as the sounds escort you on your quest to the very heart of your soul.

Mark Sutton’s music takes listeners on a journey, directed by a man who has masterful control over music and a deep, innate understanding of the human condition.

SONORO

(modern classical)

American composer, pianist and violist, Sharon Ruchman, announces the launch of “Simply SONORO,” the first album she composed for SONORO, a musical ensemble reflecting a combination of classically trained musicians juxtaposed with those steeped in Latin, jazz, and blues. Rooted in classical with a combination of 10 original tracks, the versatile album defies genre, displaying a multitude of layers filled with colors, tones, textures and rhythms.
