“Prodigy was hospitalized a few days ago in Vegas after a Mobb Deep performance for complications caused by a sickle cell anemia crisis. As most of his fans know, Prodigy battled the disease since birth. The exact causes of death have yet to be determined.“
Albert Johnson aka Prodigy of hip-hop duo Mobb Deep ( Havoc/ Kejuan Muchita the other half), was certainly far too young, although he had had health issues since birth. The duo released their debut album ‘Juvenile Hell‘ back in 1993 (still in their teens), that was widely ignored. What they didn’t manage with 4th & Broadway, they did it with Loud Records fro their 2nd album ‘The Infamous‘ (1995), which became an instant classic. Their latest release ‘The Infamous Mobb Deep’ was released in 2014.
