1. New Candys  – ‘Twin Mime’

Italian post punk faves New Candys recently returned in action with their video for ‘Twin Mime‘. In this offering they genuinely mix pot spunk, psychedelic rock and shoegaze to create a unique and ultra addictive blend, like early-era Black Rebel Motorcycle Club jammed in the same studio with My Bloody Valentine and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

The track is taken from the band’s  4th album ‘Vyvydwhich is coming out June 4th via Little Cloud Records and Dischi Sotterranei, along with an exclusive vinyl edition on Fuzz Club Records. The video directd by Fernando Nuti, is a more than ideal companion, adding more to the total experience.

  1. Benedikt – ‘Purple and Green’

Next up we meet up with the 9-piece collective/band from Norway, Benedikt, and their indie folk/chamber pop diamond ‘Purple and Green‘; According to the band this is ‘a song that is very special to us, and that has been with us for many years without being properly recorded. It’s about being heavily in love and not knowing how to act on it, inspired by studying at a strict christian boarding school where physical intimacy was still a taboo. We also feel like this song captures the essence of our second album, with its dreamy, playful arrangement and an unconventional mix of musical elements‘.

This stunning track is the final single off Benedikt’s sophomore, upcoming album ‘Balcony Dream‘ due out on April 16th.

  1. YOAX – ‘Seer’

What I love most about U.S. band YOAX and in particular ‘Seer‘, a track from their recently release debut album ‘Pretend To Sleep Until It Works‘ (Mount Orange Records) is that they contain the stunning Jesus Lizard complexity in their fiery post punk/noise rock/post hardcore sound. Nothing is easily served, nor gifted, in this 4+ minute gem, don’t expect choruses, melodies to breathe easy… This is a pure ‘blind alley’ song for the brave ones, mostly about anxiety of being watch or the feeling of being watched by someone. Turn this beast up loud!

  1. The Rungs – ‘Not In Love’

Not more than 21 seconds for The Rungs‘ latest single ‘Not In Love‘ to unfold its electro pop beauty. The female fronted, New York base indie project based are heavily influenced by 90s indie/synth-pop and sound totally undistracted from the current toxicity due to the ongoing pandemic and the ‘eternal’ lockdowns. And this is what we love most in their sound, that they have the immense power to boost us with positive energy, eerie melodies with tracks like these; That’s why we adore them!!

According to the band ‘Not In Loveis about the difficult moments when you don’t know how to break it to someone that you aren’t in love with them. Maybe it’s a partner who you’ve just grown apart from, or a new friend that you can sense is falling in love with you. How do you break it to them knowing that it’s going to cause them pain? In this sense it’s a song for the sentimental heart breakers.

  1. Cloud Tangle – ‘Sinking Feeling’

Last but not least, we have the latest offering by Brisbane act Cloud Tangle, ‘Sinking Feeling‘, a track off the upcoming sophomore album ‘Swells‘, to be released on April 7th via 4000 Records. Dream pop, dark wave and ethereal pop are cleverly mixed in this brilliant opus, that could easily be included in the best releases for the seminal label Projekt.

Ethereal beauty….
