  1. Topographies – ‘Rose of Sharon’

Hope you are ready for the ear-gasmic lead single ‘Rose of Sharon‘ by US post punk/shoegaze outfit Topographies. Once you press the play button below, you will get transfered with the time capsule sometime in the mid 80s, a time when Sarah Records & Factory were in their heyday. And this awesome single is somewhere in the middle ground. Indie pop, meets new wave & shoegaze in the best possible proportion.

  1. clipping. – ’96 Neve Campbell’ (ft. Cam & China)

Let’s assume that you, dear reader, are a horror film lover or if not, have a decent amount of pop culture knowledge to appreciate Neve Campbell’s recently announced return to the “Scream” franchise for the upcoming fifth installment. Let’s also make the assumption that you’ve got a killer taste in music and love yourself a little clipping.. Well you’re in luck! This week the experimental rap group fronted by Daveed Diggs released ‘96 Neve Campbell‘ as a teaser to the ‘Visions of Bodies Being Burned‘ LP due out in October. The track features Cam & China, and kicks all of the ass that Campbell’s character Sidney Prescott does in the aforementioned “Scream” films. Definitely one to pump you up for the week ahead!

  1. Yakumo Kobe – ‘Collateral party’

Collateral Party‘ is the closing track of Yakumo Kobe‘s just released album ‘The Monkey Speaks‘, a highly cinematic, idm track featuring an impeccable sound design & production, addictive beats and elusive synth chords, in the vein of Rival Consoles & Clark.

Marco Paolini (the artist’s real name) has stated about the track : ““Collateral party” talks about a moment in my life in which I felt imprisoned and far away from normal life. When even looking at a group of people eating and chilling together made feel alone and chained, but still, in that very moment I felt I was going to do something to get to live again.

  1. Pretty Far – ‘The Sun Has Gone’

Italians do it better… At least some of them, like Pretty Far. Their 3rd single and video for ‘The Sun Has Gone‘ is an alluring indie folk treat, with ideal companion the self-made visualizer. Since the blog is a vivid supporter of the diy spirit, and pure art, we just couldn’t leave out this considerable work of expression, immediacy and purity derived from art. This is why we love abands like Pretty Far; they are ‘pretty far’ from any trend, hype or fashion.. But very much close to our heart!
