  1. Paco Versailles – ‘Lilac Moon’

Vahagni Turgutyan and Ryan Merchant are the two natives behind the stellar duo Paco Versailles, that has coined “dancemenco” genre and their latest single ‘Lilac Moon’ is here to remind that summer may be gone, but it will always be in our heart. This sublime blend of pop, flamenco (you read well!) and EDM will get you for days, and may very well put you in shame in case you start dancing in its seductive rhythm, while waiting in the Metro station.

Merchant explains, “In this case, the line ‘Lilac Moon’ emerged from the psyche describing a phenomenon we had never seen before, yet it felt familiar and resonated. Often lyrics come as a stream of consciousness and only later do you realize what they meant. The muses also dictated that part of the song would be in Spanish, which as a language, allows for more melodrama.”

We simply don’t wanna resist…

  1. Snowtown – ‘Nervous’

Being extremely privileged of listening to numerous fresh, and even unreleased tracks on daily basis, I must confess that seldom do I come across a song that will make me hit the repeat button and then confess to myself: ‘That’s it!‘. ‘Nervous‘ is one of them. An 18 year old solo artist from Salt Lake City, UT named Jesse Garcia, who goes under the moniker Snowtown has created the ‘Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You‘ for the Millenials’ generation. A slow-tempo “blues” track thats sepaks directly to the heart with lyrics like the following:

You’re making me nervous,
The way you smile like that.
Yeah you’re making me nervous,
Might have a heart attack.
I said you’re making me nervous,
With a smile like that.
I said you’re making me nervous,
Never quit doing that…’

Let’s switch off our smartphones, and lets dance until dawn…. Lets hug & kiss. Adorable & timeless!

  1. David Hasselhoff – ‘Swallow’

Head On‘ is a familiar tune to most of us whether because of the original by The Jesus And Mary Chain or the Pixies’ 1991 cover for their ‘Trompe Le Monde‘ LP. Another rendition has been dropped off at our doorsteps in a “Knight Rider” shaped package this past week. You’re reading this right: David Hasselhoff has taken a spin at the iconic post-punk track along with some help from The CarsElliot Easton on guitar. As a part of his new ‘Open Your Eyes‘ album which features collaborations with artists such as industrial gods Ministry, ‘Head On‘ is actually – get this – kinda awesome? So do yourself a favor and listen to the song below, and then take a deep breath and accept the conflicted feelings you’re having now. Yup, awesome.

  1. Calcou – ‘Zeitgeist’ (feat. Bastien)

Zeitgeist‘ is the third, and most promising, release of Berlin based producer, composer & multi-instrumentalist Calcou. It’s a catchy indie electronic -with deep house hints- gem, featuring Bastien on a soulful vocal performance that matches ideally with the warm synth textures and the driving rhythm. Just imagine an enormous iceberg with flickring flames inside. Stylish & soulful at the same time. On repeat!
