  1. DIIV – ‘Blankenship’

Another must-listen for the past week, DIIV’s third single from their new album ‘Deceiver‘ comes in the form of ‘Blankenship‘. Filled with thoughtful lyrics beckoning you to contemplate the state of humanity and the destruction of earth, the track’s guitar reverb is surprisingly catchy, a light lift in all the darkness. Be sure to find the LP out October 4th.

  1. Michael Baker – ‘Baby Books’ (Radio Edit)

Music may be the best sedatibe for our lives. Especially if it comes straight from the heart, like in the case of Anglo-French singer and songwriter Michael Baker. His latest track ‘Baby Books‘ is a sublime indie folk opus that will make you travel with your erphones fixed on your head. Behind this bittersweet awesomeness lies a very important lyrical subject like Baker explains about the song: ‘I wrote Baby Books after losing a friend who lost his battle with mental health. It shocked me how much we wear masks every day & how hard it is to see what is bubbling away underneath. Most of the time I feel that this song is not my song to sing, but then I remember the solution of all this is to talk more openly and be prepared to share our inner demons with friends and loved ones.

Vital!
