- Twin Temple – ‘I Am a Witch’
‘I Am a Witch‘ combines the power of three, blood, and hexing the patriarchy with psychedelic-esque doo-wop, making Satan worship sound pure, innocent, and at home in a 1950’s ice cream shop. If you like a little Halloween with your Amy Winehouse, be sure to check out Twin Temple’s latest b-side.
- YALI – ‘Keep Me Sane’
One of the most powerful tracks and videos of 2019 literally came out of nowhere! Her name is YALI, a 24 year old singer-songwriter, pianist and producer from Israel, and ‘Keep Me Sane‘ is the first single taken from her debut EP ‘Why Do Flowers Mean Love?‘ (due out on September 27). A secret marriage of Aphex Twin with FKA Twigs. But still, the great sound production and the abstract rhythm is combined with the dark noir soundscapes and an eerie voice from an Angel that fell on earth to draw some light into our lives. An example of life & survival. Ladies & Gents, welcome YALI, a paradigm for everyone, intially for her music, and then for her life. Keep us sane…. Love.
- Hanging Garden – ‘Into That Good Night’
Hanging Garden from Finland have gone a long way since their beginning in 2004. Their sound evolved but remained dark. The new album ‘Into That Good Night‘ will be released on November 15th via Lifeforce Records.
- Dreamaway – ‘We Get On Somehow’
Ben Talmi (Wild Nothing, Manchester Orchestra, Tokyo Police Club), Cale Hawkins (Quincy Jones, Linda Perry, Raveena) Dan Drohan (Maggie Rogers, Tei Shi, Olden Yolk) Margaret Sohn (Miss Grit, My Brightest Diamond) Kate Steinberg (Human Natural) are Dreamway, that so much needed supergroup, to fill us with optimisism with their top indie pop bliss ‘We Get On Somehow‘. Indeed, with such a soundtrack!
- Pet Envy – ‘Slower’
Pet Envy is a promising indie pop band from Nashville, that shared their 2nd 2019’s single, ‘Slower‘ last Friday. A stylish pop rock tune with harmonic, ear-mlting vocals. According to Shelbi Albert of Pet Envy the song explores the cliches that are often told to people who either stop the busy hustle and bustle lifestyle to pursue other ventures, or who don’t seem to be bothered much by the day to day stuff. Looking forward for more!
