  1. Topographies – ‘Open Up’

Open Up‘ is a three minute trip back to the post punk era and the shoegaze of the late 80s. This gem will steal your heart at once and make you want to keep it playing all the time. And when you stop listening to this, it will hunt your mind with its lyrics to emerge out of nowhere in the middle of the day, in between your thoughts. ‘Open Up‘ is the opening track of the second release ‘Part Time Punks Sessions‘ EP, by the shoegaze/post punk band Topographies. Furthermore, it is significant to mention that the 3rd and 4th tracks are My Bloody Valentine‘s covers. Enjoy!

  1. Swallow The Sun – ‘Firelights

Swallow The Sun released ‘Lumina Aurea‘ from their upcoming album ‘When A Shadow Is Forced into The Light‘ in December and immediately set high expectations and suspense for the whole album. 1. Supercaan – ‘The Bull’

Songs of the Week return(s) and on this very 1st edition for 2019, we have included along other gems, the ultra-addictive track ‘The Bull‘ by Supercaan. The Birmingham/London based band creates high expectations for their upcoming debut, out Spring 2019. Just think of The National, via a post-punk prism, and Brian Eno staring at the corner. Now, what’s this? This is sublime new stuff to dance to and dream with! Unable to resist…

All the things we said,
all the nights we dread

  1. John McCabe – ‘Broken

If you wanna remind yourself of the “Golden” 90’s era, all you have to do is listen to John McCabe‘s ‘Broken‘. Listening to McCabe’s voice, the first name that came to my mind was Michael Stipe. But on the other hand, this Orange County/L.A. based musician and songwriter has so much more to offer. Sunshine indie pop melodies that will brighten our universe, and let us sing-along without shame. Lovely!

  1. Bis – ‘Sound of a Heartbreak’

Now these are some really cool news! 90’s Scottish indie pop band Bis, are back in action after 5 years with the first single off the new album ‘Slight Disconnects‘ to be released on Last Night From Glasgow records. These chaps still sound cool and certainly this is another slice of their pop genius! Welcome back to brighten up our lives!
