gorillaz-2

Gorillaz return after six years of absence and plenty of anticipation since last June officially started. The release of the first homonym single, and video of the upcoming new album, ‘Hallelujah Money‘ with featuring vocals of 2015’s Mercury Prize winner Benjamin Clementine, marks a political statement against the historical paradox of billionaire Donald Trump‘s election as the new American president, which has caused massive opposition.

The new video was directed by Gorillaz & Giorgio Testi and edited by Sebastian Monk. The multi talented Clementine (artist, poet, composer & musician) is starring in this new video as it shows him singing while standing in the gold-plated elevator of Trump Tower.

Gorillaz’ virtual member Murdoc shared the new video with the following introductory note:

In these dark times, we all need someone to look up to. Me. That’s why I’m giving you this new Gorillaz song, a lightning bolt in a black night. You’re welcome. Now piss on! The new album’s not gonna write itself.”
