Maisie May – ‘Lost My Love’

About Maisie May

Though 2020 has been a tumultuous year on many fronts, it has also brought us Maisie May: a multi-hyphenate artist and producer who has been releasing effervescent, diaristic, synthpop songs since early this year. Although she writes and produces in her bedroom in Brooklyn, the professionalism of her sound continues to elevate exponentially. May creates her sonic stories in a style that rings true to her own identity as a young woman navigating love and loss in New York City. NYC has responded well to her reflections; resulting in her music being added to Spotify’s editorial playlist, “New from NYC: Indie.” After having an anticlimactic graduation from music school in May, she’s felt committed to teaching herself the different pathways of producing music on her own. She says, “I feel like I see something every day that teaches me something about the way sound works, and I try to apply that when shaping new sounds in my music.” Maisie May continues to surprise us with her evolving style as she learns more about producing her own melodic worlds. She’s traveled sonically from sounding like Clairo to sounding like Purity Ring, and we are excited to see what creations will come out of her computer next.

Vital Sparks – ‘Another Midnight’

About Vital Sparks

Vital Sparks is the moniker of Glaswegian-born and Melbourne-based Andrew Stark. After being lead singer and guitarist of Berlin-based post-punk/electronic act Last Days of Elvis, the project serves as an outlet for Stark’s self-produced dreamy, shoegaze-inspired tracks.

While Vital Sparks’ debut EP, Fading Colours, was primarily a guitar-driven affair, his upcoming EP, When The Heart Beats Slow, embraces a much more synth-heavy and playful approach to songwriting; melancholic tunes that move your heart and your feet.

Willow Robinson – ‘Weight of the World’

About Willow Robinson

Two years ago, I moved to Los Angeles to chase a dream…
It all began after a brief visit a few months prior, I met two music producers who urged me to cancel my return flight, and stay in LA to record an album. With my entire life in England, it was no decision to take lightly. Committing to Los Angeles would mean a completely new path, a whole new direction. But what did I have to lose? Sometimes in life you have to throw caution to the wind and follow your heart. Follow your art.
The day came, I was supposed to return home, and despite the fear gripping me tight, doubts brimming inside, I cancelled my flight, cleaned up my affairs in London, and moved to the roasting desert an hour outside of LA to begin recording. We decided to make an album about the seasons of life, encapsulating all the things we go through as humans, the love, the happiness, and all the trials and tribulations we face by simply, being.
Sleeping under a piano on a thin mattress topper and living day to day in stifling 100+ degree heat, ants biting my toes, we tirelessly strived to capture my story on record. Tears were shed, hysterical laughs were had, sleepless nights and the deepest of dreams gripped us… but we finally found ‘my sound’.
‘Winter’, ‘Spring’, ‘Summer’, and ‘Fall’ have already entered the ether, giving you a glimpse into my life, but the best is yet to come! Thank you for joining me on my journey 🙏🏻 Oh, and make sure to give me a follow 😉

Komodo – ‘Zig Zag’

About Komodo

On a world map, Komodo wouldn’t be easy to pinpoint. Their vintage exotic rock & roll is induced with flavors and magic spells from all over the world: desert blues, surf rock, afro-disco, 60’s psychedelica, rumba and Indian raga. All of this comes with lush vocal harmonies, non-western sounds & rhythms, and unexpected instruments. Komodo might be a little weird and gritty, but the melodies will get stuck in your head. And can you dance to it? Hell yes!

In their home country of The Netherlands, Komodo played some prestigious festivals like Noorderslag and Gransnapolsky, but they played at the famous French festivals Transmusicales de Rennes and Printemps de Bourges too. The band also did a couple of successful little tours in Switzerland. Indeed: Komodo is hard to pinpoint on a map. Just as you

Michael Lane – ‘Moment’

About Michael Lane

Michael Lane releases the spherical indie folk single “Moment” on October 23rd. The previously known global reality ceased to exist a few months ago. The certainty of a quite predictable future is overtaken by current, difficult to calculate events. Recognizing, living and enjoying the moment has gained much greater importance since then.

„‚Moment‘ is a song about letting go, embracing the present moment, and living life to the fullest. It’s an emotional atmospheric soundscape inspired by the beauty of life itself. Life’s too short to focus on things you can’t change. Everyone says time goes by so fast, that’s true if you’re not living in the moment, so rather try to live in the present, because in reality, the present moment is all we really have.“ – Michael Lane explains.

If there is a modern folk-pop artist who has seen the harsh realities in life, it is Michael Lane himself. As a US soldier in his twenties, sent to Iraq and Afghanistan, Michael was forced to live at cruelty. And if his previous albums were like a kind of musical diary in which these experiences were reflected, Michael Lane’s regained ease and joy can clearly be seen in „Moment“. The song is a message of hope and positive certainty that a time of crisis will lead people back to the important things.

Successes such as two top 50 songs in the German charts, four albums, international tours and the single “Liberty” as the official song of the 2015/2016 Four Hills Tournament, Europe’s biggest international ski jump event, have made the German-American known to the public. In addition to his work as a musician, Michael Lane is currently also active as a songwriter for production music and as a music producer in his remote “Studio Waldblick“.
