Urchin – ‘Break In’

About Urchin

Leo Appleyard is a musician and producer from South-West London, releasing music under the name “Urchin”.

Originally an ambitious 8-piece band that performed at the London Jazz Festival and venues around London, Urchin now represents the sonic output forged in a secluded island studio, once home to the ‘spice girls’ in the early 90s.

In 2018, Leo took a break from life as gigging musician and escaped to the progressive music scene of Melbourne, Australia. Taking in the mix of house, disco and modern jazz from the northern districts of Fitzroy and Brunswick – ‘Take Time’ EP (release date 1st March 2019) is the reflection of that time spent in a creative zone, in a new scene whilst underpinned by the narrative of UK producers Bonobo, Maribou State and the Cinematic Orchestra.

PRISMA – ‘A Child’

About PRISMA

The Copenhagen-based sibling duo Prisma, consisting of Frida and Sirid Møl Kristensen, started to write music in their childhood home. This evolved into the dreampop – project Prisma.

Inspired by artists like Agnes Obel and First Aid Kid the duo have struck a Nordic nerve that invites the listener into a dreamy cinematic universe. The sisters’ shimmering vocals fall as magic dust upon the listeners and dance on a bed of wandering piano notes and rich guitar chords; “We view our lyrics and vocals as the plot of a film and the musical arrangement functions as the soundtrack.”

The name of the sister-duo is a feministic twist to the word prism, which is well known from the album cover of Pink Floyd’s ’The Dark Side Of The Moon’. The duo’s name is an image of the sisters’ songwriting process, which evolves around reflecting each other’s inner musical colors and light; “We want to create a musical bubble where there is room to be present and where the outside world disappears. At live performances we strive to create a space where there is room for reflection”.

Prisma is produced by Andreas Grønne (Faber & Manila), Birk Storm has co-produced and mixed (manager, co-writer and producer for Nicklas Sahl), and Brian Mørk Hansen has mastered the songs (Blaume Blume & Blå Nætter). Live the duo consists of Marco Ceglarek (drums), Martin Simonsen (keys) and August Kjær (bass).

The Endorphins – ‘Parachute’

About The Endorphins

She is the singer with the golden voice. He is the producer and wordsmith. They’ve known each other all their lives and they practically grew up in the middle of the bursting music scene in Stockholm together. They are The Endorphins.

Inspired by 90’s R&B, 60’s motown, the poetry of everyday life and simple words – The Endorphins create dreamy, euphoric, soulful and funky music based on feel-good vibes and pink cotton candy.

“Our music is all about inducing endorphins. It’s about love, friendship, clubs, parties, and sex. We wanna bring good vibes, with a touch of future RnB. The vibe of our songs is influenced by the good vibes that were floating around NYC in the 70’s – that escape from reality that the disco era was built upon”, The Endorphins say.
