SUMMY – ‘Wish I Never Met You’

About SUMMY

Whimsical, imaginative and ethereal are all words to describe Arizona born and bred indie pop artist Summy. Now based in Los Angeles, the young social media influencer and otherworldly songwriter crafts music inspired by her personal experiences and her deepest desire to inspire other women to be strong, embrace growth, and to love themselves for who they are.

Inspired by a wide array of musical influences including Whitney Houston, Phil Collins, Chicago, Elton John, and Lady Gaga, Summy writes music that is genre-defying and introspective. In 2018, Summy debuted her first single “Sus” followed by the three song EP Known Better. Her single “Said It After” is about “when the relationship ends, the person comes to say all the things you wanted to hear when you were together but now it’s too late, because they said it after.” Summy’s lush and intimate vocals glide effortlessly over enchanting electronic pop soundscapes culminating into a magnetizing musical release. Her latest single “I Wish I Never Met You” is a cathartic release from the past traumas of a toxic relationship. Featuring soaring vocals full of fervor over nostalgic 80’s dipped pop rock soundscapes, the song reveals her innermost confessions. Summy confides, “My brother and I wrote ‘I wish I never met you’ about me getting cheated on in a past relationship. The song talks about the pain of getting your heart broken, the difficulties of sitting with your emotions, and the process of healing yourself surrounded by those who love you most”

Summy has an uncanny ability to tap into the shared human experience and highlight our deepest emotions for music that is cathartic, tender, and emotive. In addition to her music, she embodies an aesthetic that is creative and vibrant, building a fantastical world for her and her fans. “I’ve always been very drawn to an ethereal and colorful energy for the clothes I wear and the makeup looks I do. I think one of the reasons why I’m more attracted to that kind of vibe is because it really helps me cope with my depression and mental struggles. It’s much harder to cry if you’re in fairy wings,” confides the songwriter.

With millions of streams and a dedicated fanbase, Summy has succeeded in creating music with her authentic voice that touches and inspires.

Leon Rosen – ‘Cafe Dogs’

About Leon Rosen

Leon Rosen was born and raised in San Francisco, the son of an abstract painter and a dancer turned journalist. His prodigious talent on the piano was recognized early on and by his teens, Leon performed with Bay Area jazz meistros Herbie Lewis and Sonny Simmons. He composed the score for the Daughters of Ishtar, an opera performed at Burning Man.

Singing psychedelic pop with a band was his dream. But friends said he didn’t have a good voice. So Leon moved to New York to study piano.

He thrived in the energetic and aggressive atmosphere of NYC. After school he lived abroad for several years living in the hassidic underground of Jerusalem.

“Back then I drank the koolaid. It was good for a while. Until it wasn’t”

During this time, he had a dream. In it, Tom Waits said to me “singing isn’t about hitting notes. Its about laying it in the bucket.” I woke up and knew I had to try. Surely I can lay it in the bucket. I found a vocal coach and worked hard. For a very long time. So long that maybe I aged out of pop music. But now I can sing well enough to do what I love.

He began to refine a psychedelic pop sound. combining his love of Jazz with the singer-songwriter pop of the late 70’s, and contemporary electronic music. The resulting recordings boasted a sweet, nostalgic vibe with modern beats and arrangements.

Leon will shoot a film based on his album in Tokyo in the fall of 2022. Café Dogs, his newest release, is out now.

Peter Lake – ‘Stones’

About Peter Lake

Peter Lake is a New York City based singer-songwriter who revels in anonymity. His musical influences include Curtis Mayfield, Motown, Billie Eilish and Rüfüs Du Sol. Therefore, it’s no surprise that he has not stuck to one genre, dabbling in rock, pop, indie, and house. Lake’s philosophy of music making is that by combining genres, the range of song creation has increased. A song that successfully incorporates and connects the positive aspects of different musical styles has the potential to be more universally appealing than any song in history.
