WE R OK – ‘Rolling Stoned’

About WE R OK

WE R OK is a joint venture between friends Frank Dal Pra and Brian Delaney. Having met while studying Music Industry and Tech at Mercy College, the two quickly connected thanks to their shared love of music and apparent aptitude for dysfunction. What seemed like a match made in heaven has taken them both on one hell of a ride. With plenty of late nights, bad decisions and mental breakdowns between then and now, Frank and Brian are now ready to use their powers for good, creating tunes to be enjoyed by all of the unstable, hanging by a thread, troubled souls around the world.

WE R OK is nothing more than a new outlet for Frank and Brian’s pent up frustration, mental anguish and limitless creativity. Two friends making music to help themselves cope… and hopefully helping others do the same.

Two friends who rarely get together, making music to help themselves pretend everything is ok.

Sorta shit. Fine I guess. WE R OK.

Thomas LaVine – ‘Rivers’

About Thomas LaVine

Born in Florida and raised in the small town of Blacksburg, SC, Thomas blends the organic textures of his roots with ethereal textures and nuances. He is just as at home as a minimalist as he is in soaring choruses and driven guitars.

LaVine is a songwriter who loves using captivating metaphors to convey honest emotional ideas. He has been playing music for his whole life, and started to write songs when he was about 16 years old. He took influences from a wide variety of bands and artists from classics like John Denver to modern favorites such as Andrew Belle and Noah Gundersen. He has developed a unique and authentic style that creates a space for emotion and honesty to take shape in a new way.

When asked about the ideas behind his songs and what he writes about he says “At their core, the songs are usually about whatever you think are. All that matters is what they become to you in the moment. It may have been different for me and it may be different for the next person, but it only really matter what you feel personally.” Known for being abstract, LaVine likes to treat songwriting like a canvas in which to paint with many colors.

Rey – ‘Snakes & Lizards’ (Stripped Version)

About Rey

Rey is an indie rock project from self-taught multi-instrumentalist and filmmaker Alex Cherney of Long Island, NY.

Started in 2018, it wasn’t until the pandemic that Cherney felt inspired to finally finish and release the project, offering his own uplifting contribution to the world. All music is written, performed and produced from Cherney’s home library turned studio. The tracks were mastered by Steve Fallone, the Grammy award-winning engineer behind artists including Tame Impala and The War on Drugs — both who have deeply inspired Rey’s mellow, introspective sound.

The project’s poetic storytelling, hazy composition and nostalgic melodies capture the delicate moments and dreamy landscape of beach life on Long Island. Through his music, Rey explores the interconnected themes of nature, personal relationships and healing — offering all who listen a much-need, feel-good escape.

Rose Brokenshire – ‘Alright’

About Rose Brokenshire

From the melodic lull of ocean vibes to the intricacies of the human condition, Toronto local Rose Brokenshire makes music that seamlessly marries both desolation and daydreams. Rose writes from a place of deep vulnerability, a reflex reaction to the beauty and turbulence of life. Using ambient vocals and atmospheric musical elements, she transcends her listeners from a simple chord progression into a unique listening environment.

In her formative years, Rose was fully immersed in Toronto’s folk music scene, frequently playing live shows and producing acoustic EP’s such as Seeds You Grow in 2013 and Wend in 2014. But growing up in the city left her with a vast desire to be closer to nature, ultimately leading her north to become a Forest Firefighter, and subsequently putting her writing and performing to a halt. The change of environment caused a great shift in her introspection and desire to grow. Six Years later, Rose is turning a new leaf and making more music than ever – just a little different than before. In the fall of 2019, Rose released Six Years, the final collection of her favourite unreleased songs written almost six years ago. It is an ode to the old, and a clearing of space for what is yet to come.

Roses new music incorporates subtle elements of folk, but mainly focuses on ethereal lo-fi bedroom feels and ambient electronics. The debut of her new sound, In A Spell, is a collection of four songs full of drifting harmonies and gentle acoustics, wavering synths and subtle percussion, and an ethereal soundscape that gently carries the listener through a poetic, intimate and honest journey of shared sentiments and tenderness.

Rose has plans to release a 6-song visual album in the fall of 2020, and a friend-filled studio album in the spring of 2021.
