Steven Ellison aka Flying Lotus, the live artist extraordinaire, has announced a series of North American tour dates this August and September in coincidence with his latest album, ‘Flamagra‘. Starting the journey on the 9th of August at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, there’ll be stops in Seattle, Taos, Montreal, Boston, Nashville, and Los Angeles, among many other cities. The L.A. based rapper has recently kept busy writing soundtracks for films such as the “Blade Runner Black Out 2022” short, contributing music to the anime series “Carole & Tuesday“, and working on his label Brainfeeder’s film division with horror flick “Kuso” (you can still check it out via Shudder).

Somehow FlyLo was able to squeeze in a bit of time to create ‘Flamagra‘, an album with 27 tracks featuring dynamite guests such as George Clinton, Thundercat, Little Dragon, Solange, Anderson .Paak, and David Lynch. Yes, you read that correctly: David Lynch. Explaining the concept of his sixth studio album, he stated: “I’d been working on stuff for the past five years, but it was always all over the place. I’d always had this thematic idea in mind — a lingering concept about fire, an eternal flame sitting on a hill. Some people love it, some people hate it. Some people would go on dates there and some people would burn love letters in the fire.

So that begs the question, will there be love letter burning on his upcoming tour? Unlikely, but the man is known for his unique performances especially his creativity with 3D live – some “love it”, some “hate it”. Details have yet to be teased. You can find the lengthy list of tour dates below, and also check out a few of FlyLo’s brand new tracks (including the one featuring David Lynch!!). ‘Flamagra‘ is out May 24th via Warp Records.
