Tonight’s 2nd exclusive premiere on Last Day Deaf by East London singer and songwriter BeeMc couldn’t arrive at a more fitting time; Police brutality & oppression have reached maximum level during this pandemic era. George Floyd is the most notorious case, who was brutally murdered by police officer, Derek Chauvin, when he knelt on Floyd’s neck for nearly eight minutes. What followed afterwards were protests against police violence toward black people quickly spread across the United States and internationally. But this is not the only case; 26 y.o. Bill Magos was found dead at his home, on July 13th, not even a month (June 14), after he had been beaten outside the courts of Volos (Greece) by the repression forces. Autopsy is yet to reveal (?) the cause of his death. And there are numerous examples, that will remain unknown to a broader audience, or better said, covered up!

Back to the premiere, ‘Officer‘ is a raw energetic anthem, with some wicked spoken word in the vein of legendary Mike Skinner, and “hot-as-lava” riffs and like the press ideally notes “it’s a snapshot into inner city life and the way people are treated by those who should be trusted the most, police officers.” Enraged & essential!

Press Notes:

East London singer and songwriter BeeMC has announced the release of his next single, ‘Officer’

East London born BeeMC spent countless years mesmerising audiences on the London music circuit becoming a cult figure within the guitar community.

Melting down his blues music roots and stirring that into spoken word style rap and grime influences creates a sound that we haven’t heard before, unmistakably born from London – think The Jimi Hendrix Experience meets the raw energy of early Wiley with the lyrical depth and honesty of Mike Skinner on top.

From his humble beginnings and storied life to cutting his teeth at age 18 at the iconic Arch1 in Canning Town to playing venues all over the country BeeMC really embodies the east end promise, never willing to quit and constantly seeking perfection of his art while adapting and overcoming all obstacles in his way.

“Officer” is BeeMC’s follow up to the “Cash Is King” EP which was released following a sold out show in the heart of Soho in London at The St Moritz Club before the entire world locked down. This track couldn’t be more relevant, it’s a snapshot into inner city life and the way people are treated by those who should be trusted the most, police officers. This is an anthem for now.
