Dead Can Dance‘s arrival in 1984 was the beginning of an incredible seventeen years of working with 4AD. Formed in Australia by Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry and then relocating to London, they built a loyal, global fanbase yet remained away from the mainstream. Immensely talented vocalists – Gerrard with her inimitable, mesmeric style and Perry’s haunting baritone – they consistently made music full of integrity and passion, melding traditional instruments with samplers to create a bridge between ancient and modern musics.
All currently out of print on vinyl, the eight albums they released on 4AD are finally being repressed with ‘Dead Can Dance‘, ‘Spleen And Ideal‘, and ‘Into The Labyrinth‘ the first to be made available on 8th July 2016.
