Donald Glover‘s first new offering since his Grammy-nominated full-length ‘Awaken, My Love!‘ (2016), is a powerful message about gun violence in the U.S.A. ‘This Is America‘ once again proves Glover’s (aka Childish Gambino) unquestionable talent on mixing contemporary R&B, funk and neo-soul with straight-to-the-point rhymes, but furthermore introduces to us awesome director Hiro Murai (“Atlanta“) who’s capable of shooting such a ‘strong’ video without even getting dark. Despite its graphic scenes, ‘This Is America’ is a must-watch!
References to Black Lives Matter, the Charlottesville protests, police brutality, and the Civil Rights movement are also included in this masterpiece.
