Three tracks that need to be listened. Three tracks “buzzzing”. Hand-picked by Last Day Deaf for you…
Artist: Slot Machine
Track: ‘Know Your Enemy’
Slot Machine come from Thailand and are one of the biggest alternative rock acts. Their track ‘Know Your Enemy‘ was produced by Brandon Darner (Imagine Dragons) and was recorded at the legendary Thai Karma Sound Studios. The band sounds at its best form, with this very melodic alternative rock banger mixing electronic, with larger-than-life riffs and a confident & epressive vocal performance, not to refer to the ace lyrics: “you can trust nobody even your self, back against the wall, what you gonna do? living struggle for victory with your sole body or surrender“. Epic!
Artist: The Jins
Track: ‘She Said’
Genre: grunge, indie rock
Well, what do we have here? We have a trio from Vancouver, Canada, playing loud, cathcy indie rock with strong grunge references, Prepare yourselves for 3 minutes of the absolute “grunge revival” (the video is great too lasting 4 mins). Mark the name down, they are called The Jins, and the track ‘She Said‘. I haven’t heard such an excellent scream since legend Kurt Cobain, and nly for this, this one is an absolute 2019 tune!
Track: ‘When You’re Gone’
Bedouine is the artistic moniker of Azniv Korkejian, and if you wonder abou the project name: “Born in Aleppo, Syria to Armenian parents, Korkejian spent her childhood in Saudi Arabia, moving to America when her family won a Green Card lottery. They settled in Boston, then Houston, but she split for L.A. as soon as she could“.
‘When You’re Gone‘ is a stunningly beautiful piece of art, in which the sound is ideally combined with the video by Tom Salvaggio (part of this shot in Iceland -during Iceland Airwaves-) with Azniv’s distinctive vocals, and the eerie strings that may transfer you in another space-time. No this is not another love song; It’s a sublime human song… Just listen to Bedouine’s “I love you“….and you will get the idea… The magic of simplicity!
Out on Spacebomb Records.
