Experimental noise duo Body/Head have announced the release date for their upcoming album ‘The Switch‘. Out July 13th via Matador, it will be Kim Gordon and Bill Nace’s first LP since 2013’s ‘Coming Apart‘, excluding 2016’s live album ‘No Waves‘ of course.

While considered a full-length, ‘The Switch‘ is only five tracks, one of which they’ve given the public a taste of – lead single ‘You Don’t Need‘. The latest collaboration between Kim Gordon and Bill Nace has been described in a press release as “one composition broken up into thematic movements.” Considered “two experimental sorcerers of significant renown,” they created “a more subtle palette, refining their ideas and identity.” As for just what a fan might expect from this LP? “Spacious pieces that build shivering drones, dissonant interplay, Gordon’s manipulated vocals, and scraping, haunting textures into something that feels both delicate and dangerous.

Along with the album announcement, Body/Head have shared a string of live dates this summer with Gunn-Truscinski Duo opening for most. Be sure to check out ‘You Don’t Need‘, the album artwork and tracklisting below, and catch them live in September at North Carolina’s Hopscotch Festival.
