Beyond Boundaries is a 10-track playlist aiming to feature 10 “out-of-the-box”, outstanding gems!  Not exactly unclassified, but certainly unique and uncommon.

“Sound Explorer”: Christos Doukakis

Klara Goliger

(jazz fusion, art pop)

Quick pitch: Gothenburg based Klara Goliger’s ‘Nothing To Me’ is a superb, and one of a kind, blend of jazz fusion with art pop, taken fron her 2022’s album ‘The Point Chair’.

Cercueil

(dark techno, tribal, experimental, indie electronic)

Quick pitch: Pretty difficult to describe what’s going on with this authoritative magnum opus by the French band Cercueil. They combine everything and make a sound of their own. Dark, highly atmospheric, dystopic and utterly addictive!

Sable

(avant-pop, indietronica)

Quick pitch: A euphoric avant-pop/indietronica ear-candy by the British artist Sable will get you moving… For sure!

Tare

(jazz fusion, noise, experimental)

Quick pitch: A dadaistic, noisy, jazz fusion, highly experimental treat by the Italian outft Tare, is the best taster for their debut EP ‘TESA’. Prepare yourselves for some hyper-tensive vibes!

Corntuth

(ambient, chillwave)

Quick pitch: An alluring ambient/chillwave treasure, which according to Corntuth was “inspired by hymnals and organ music, and is a pairing between a 1985 Korg Poly 800 mkII and a 1983 Yamaha DX7”. Beautiful & soothing stuff!

Swamp Eyes

(indie folk, experimental, indie rock)

Quick pitch: Swamp Eyes are bold enough to put in the same sonic blender spacious, experimental folk soundscapes with bombastic indie rock outburst, and we are looking forward to their upcoming album, ‘Something’s in the Hall’, out on December 9th through Wally Opus Records.

Brueder Selke

(neoclassical, ambient)

Quick pitch: Taken from Brueder Selke’s debut album ‘Marienborn‘, ‘Landstrasse’ is a transcendent ambient/neoclassical composition, with exceptional sound design….

Alessio Casalini

(avant-jazz, noise, experimental)

Quick pitch: Alessio Casalini’s ‘Pyramids’ is an expreme avant-jazz composiiton, with gradual build-up, filled with a healthy dose of experimentation and noise, ideal for an early era David Lynch, dystopian, main theme!

SAMWOY

(electro, experimental, wave, breakbeat)

Quick pitch: Montreal-based songwriter and JUNO award winning producer Sam Woywitka is behind SAMWOY, and ‘White Dog’ is the 2nd track from this project, an imposing, audiovisual experience, beyond genres, trends….and norm… Stunning!

Kurt Uenala

(feat. Dave Gahan)

(drone, spoken word)

Quick pitch: Kurt Uenala, (aka Null + Void) longtime collaborator with artists like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Big Pink, Shannon Funchess of Light Asylum, collaborates with Dave Gahan in this drone magnum opus, taken from the upcoming ‘Manuscript EP’, a meditative set of (literal) tone poems out December 16 via hfn music.
