Between 2017-2019, an anonymous group called The Pro-Teens recorded and released three anomalistic cinematic soul albums.
I Flip My Life Every Time I Fly is the next in this series of Pro-Teens albums – this time, the project is symbolically led by keyboardist ‘Snooch Dodd’, and carries greater sensibilities of the relationship between break-heavy soul/funk and boom-bap hip hop beats.
Featuring connections to Surprise Chef and Karate Boogaloo, I Flip My Life Every Time I Fly was recorded in one weekend at the College Of Knowledge, and represents another piece of Melbourne’s emerging cinematic soul puzzle.
This album was made on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge them as the traditional custodians of the land and pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
All songs written by Snooch Dodd and performed by the Pro-Teens. Recorded at the College Of Knowledge in the year 2019. Produced by a very lovely friend. xoxo. Thanks to every one who made this album what it is. Special thanks to the College Of Knowledge and Baby Huey the cat.
