What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

This is a long story: I’ve had many inspirations throughout the years, and they all were female artists. But what I can surely say, is that I have always been a huge music lover: I enjoyed singing karaoke when I was just around 5-6. My family, though, are not musicians, but they also love singing and have pleasant voices. In 2006 I discovered Fergie who became my first music inspiration, so a year after I entered the local School of Arts. Next, in 2009 I became a fan of Lady Gaga and popular in my country girlband, in 2011 I got inspired by Avril Lavigne, in 2013 I discovered Lana Del Rey who influenced on me a lot to start making covers and eventually writing songs. She is the artist I feel some kind of connection with. This is a little strange but interesting feeling.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

We Will Never Be Together is such an unusual song for me. From the arrangement to the lyrics. To be honest, I wrote it a couple years ago and thought that if I ever release it, it will be a rock song. But when I decided to make it sound like a minimalistic pop track and release it in autumn to remind listeners about summer with its dance and light tracks. It’s also new for me to have an arrangement which contrasts with the kind of sad lyrics, because, before this track, I tried to make sad songs sound melancholic.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

As I said before, it’s Lana Del Rey. Also Taylor Swift. Some other artists influence a bit too, but I can’t name anyone outside the music industry.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

It is such an interesting question, which is hard to answer because, when talking about yourself, you are always a little biased. However, I heard from many bloggers that my vocals and style are way too out-of-ordinary and experimental. Personally I consider it as a compliment. I always appreciate uniqueness in art. Something which stands out, which is remarkable and, of course, honest. I write all my lyrics alone, and the majority of my songs are based on real events of my life.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

Albums: for sure, Lana Del Rey — Ultraviolence, Iggy Azalea — Survive The Summer (the name would fit haha), and my album — Revelation.

Books — something about psychology.

And movies — romantic comedies. I’m not a fan of movies, to be honest.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

Really hard to choose. Both such a different experience. But if I have to choose, then live performances.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

I don’t know if it’s funny enough, but the part of the Ca$h music video where I lay on the floor and say “all about money” was actually randomly filmed. I closed my eyes and asked my mom something like, which scenes we didn’t film yet, and it turned out that she was filming it. Somehow this footage looks very natural so I put it in the video. This music video is really full of random shots which turned out to be better than what I planned to film.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

I Don’t Love You Anymore. I really don’t know if I’ll ever write something as powerful as it.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

Soon after Revelation, I plan to release some new music. Already started working on it, actually. And I will be more than happy to know if somebody finds something for themselves in it.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

Valerie, how to just stop eating so many sweets? 🙂

Jokes aside, I really don’t know what to ask, so I’ll just take time to thank each and every one for your love, support and anything in between. I’ve always been wishing my whole life to have the people to share my music with and to make someone’s life at least a little bit brighter by it. If I do — I’m the happiest. Thank you.
