What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

I always made music. I was guitarist in rock bands and I studied music at the university. Now I’m a teacher. But I wanted to create my own compositions and don’t just play rock music. I listen to alternatives music like synthwave , dream pop or indie rock.  So I learned  to use analog synths, drum machines and write lyrics about a fictional character: Neist Season.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

It is the continuation of the adventures of Neist who sails the seas and shares his emotions and experiences.  I’m fond off the ocean, road trips and I mix my own experiences within the narrative. Here the title « Black Space » does not mean something sad and dark but a peaceful atmosphere.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

I love listening bands like The XX, Nirvana, Boards of Canada, Youth Lagoon, French 79… I listen to a lot of things.  Also,  Jack Kerouac like his novel “alone on a mountaintop” inspired me a lot.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

I give much importance to the vocal melody and love sounds that make you think of huge landscapes, like the sea, desert or constellation of stars… But I like groovey drums and electronic bass, so I try to bring everything together.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

Only the  first album of the xx, book “on the road” of J.Kerouac and my guitar!

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

I like both. In the studio we build a story and in concert we share it.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

At parties, when I have a guitar, I sometimes improvise songs about my friends … Sometimes it’s funny sometimes it’s ridiculous. Sometimes the next day we remember it sometimes we don’t!

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

First Rays on the Hebrides cause there is no “pop structure”, many analog and gaze sounds. I try to describe emotions, places with it. The lyrics are few and speak of a departure to the sea, with an hangover, to the Hebrides, a beautiful place.

Where to listen to Ep “Black Space”?

On the road, traveling, in bus, in your car, in a tent somewhere in the rain or on the cockpit of a boat …
