What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.
Honestly, I was bored at my day job and yearning for a creative outlet. Writing music allows for all sorts of creative freedom were you are allowed to draw from whatever you want. So, I started writing, found a guitarist that I liked and we started making music.
Provide us with some info about your latest release…
Its a combination of all my musical influences and a good snapshot of what I call Friday night living. Its obnoxious, sexy and hopefully wants to make you go out and make out with random strangers!
Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?
Blondie is a huge influence musically. In terms of style I would say the late 70s early 80s leather bar scene also lent a lot of influence. Mostly in terms of themes and attitude and general feel.
In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?
I wanted something with a hard rock edge, but with a sexy playful glam-rock feel to it. Something synthetic yet something with an old grunge rawness to it. There are elements of Disco bass lines, which I find incredibly sexy to go along to a dirty metal guitar sound. Its retro in feel but still unique enough to sound modern.
Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…
Albums: 1) Madonna- Immaculate collection, 2) Queen-Greatest hits 3) Guns and Roses- Appetite for destruction ( I know 2 greatest hits albums. total cheat answer!)
Movies: 1) Trainspotting (as non dessert living as you could get) 2)Waiting for Guffman 3) Muriels Wedding
Books 1) The Alchemist (does everyone say that one?) 2) Tales of the City 3) Atlas Shrugged ( it would kill time on the island getting through that one!)
Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?
Live all the way! Its the greatest feeling when everything comes together and you’re able to instigate a wild fun party.
Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?
We had a show sponsored by Jack Daniels. I had 2 obligatory shots with my band. Went up to the door guy who was a friend of mine I hadn’t seen in a while and asked him if he was going to check out the show. He responded “there is no way I want to check that out”- I then proceeded out of a sore ego to drown 2 more shots. Then half way through the 2nd song it dawned on me that I was drunk…and on stage. The banter was pretty interesting that night I was told. Later my friend confessed he had no idea it was going to be me on stage.
Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?
Fuck On- Its the opposite of telling someone to Fuck Off. So it has a “positive message” in it but has an aggressive obnoxious feel to it, its fun to play live because it messes with people who have never heard it, since its not another aggro track. Plus it has space lazers in the end.
Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?
Right now, build my base and tour as much as I can. Playing live is the ultimate.
