What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

MOLD in its current form has existed for two years. The troupe is ever expanding.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

The Death Suite EP. You can listen to it as one piece of music or separate it into three songs. There will be a vinyl release by Interzone Records, those should be ready sometime in November all being well.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

It was a warm night in 2004, we were all out walking in a field when we saw a bright light in the sky. Thats the last thing we all remember. Nothing has been the same since.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

Why should you listen to any music? We’re more than happy to let the listener judge our sound and figure out who we do or don’t sound like, but it’s not something we concern ourselves with. Personally we’d describe all our output as ‘Moldy’.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

Movie: Cast Away, but the DVD stops when he gets stranded on the island.

Album: The Official Soundtrack to Cast Away.

Book: The Original Screenplay for the motion picture ‘Cast Away’ by William Broyles Junior.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

No preference. Both are vastly different experiences with different challenges. We really enjoy both.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

There was once some graffiti done on one of our gig posters saying we were “fascists with shitty messages”.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

Anything off our upcoming co-release with The Wiggles.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

One or more of us will die after the album is released in February, thus cementing a long lasting legacy not reliant on people liking our music. Also the mysterious light we all saw on that night in 2004 is set to return.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

At the end of Cast Away, why did Tom Hanks character not wait around for the lady to arrive so he could find out what was in the package he’d held on to for god knows how many years on that island??
