What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

We have been writing songs and playing in bands independently for years but what first brought us together was actually an impromptu jam. We started writing these joke songs together. The songs started to naturally become more serious and we thought it’d be fun to play some shows so we got bosh and fielder to come play with us.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

Our debut album drops September 19. We’re really excited to share it. It was recorded all live in one day in one room by Justin Raisen.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

A lot of 90s alt bands and Cardi B.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

We write from a pretty emotional and “high stakes” mindset, we embrace that and feel like that intensity sets us apart.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

Live feels better cause I feel a sense of freedom on stage that you don’t really get in the studio or anywhere else in life for that matter. – Nina

I prefer writing and studio work. Watching the songs come together from ground up and building them collaboratively is really rewarding for me. – Jacob

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

Not really. We are very serious people in a very serious band and we don’t have fun or funny times. Ever.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

Maybe Worthy Girl. It was written in the midst of an argument we were having. We (Jacob and Nina) were so mad at each other. I can’t even remember what about. So we were writing the song but also not talking which was fucking weird but yielded kinda interesting results. I think that accounts for some of the songs “Disjointedness.”

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

We’re in the midst of writing a second album we plan to record later this year. The songs are taking an interesting direction we’re really stoked about it.

What would be the one item you’d bring onto Naked and Afraid?
