What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.
We started out as a punkband who just wanted to play really loud & fast dance music. We we’re never that inspired from any specific music really, rather deeply uninspired by the current live scene with endless reincarnations of shoe gazing indie bands staring at their feet. I guess we we’re inspired then and there in the crowd thinking MORE, LOUDER, I WANNA DANCE NOW, FASTER, DO SOMETHING ON STAGE YOU IDIOT.
Provide us with some info about your latest release…
Our new single soaked is a banger. Our drummerboy captain sassypants found a juicy drumbeat, our bassist went full on one string mayhem on it and the rest wrote itself.
Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?
ABBA, Todd Terje, Donna Summer, The king of Sweden, Sly & Family Stone, Stevie Nicks, En Poppel, Donny Hathaway, Scooter, The Hives, Happy Mondays, Kenta Gustafsson, Tame Impala, Vitas.
In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?
We make hit music baby. Guilty pleasures without the guilt. Beat focused songs, extensive use of percussion and supersweet chords. Honestly we just try to make the type of music we would want to dance & scream-sing to in a very small & sweaty space. Our fans seem to enjoy it just as much as us.
Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…
Voulez vous, Pusher (books are silly).
Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?
Sweet lord LIVE!!! We’re basically doing this all for the live experience & we’ll keep trying for years to come to capture what we’re doing live in studio but most probably fail. It’s all about the vibe and the nerve and the punk in the disko is on that stage no question about it.
Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?
We went to Jordan to play earlier this spring which was a fkn magical trip (!!!) However we played one show at a venue run by the state so they had to approve all the musical acts in advance. We we’re already in the country when they found our social medias with make up, glitter, jewellery etc etc our promotor hade to have several crisis meetings with them and we ended up playing with secret service people in the audience with strict restrictions on songs, make up and attire. Another promotor who booked a metal act a week earlier was apparently jailed still for putting on a regular metal show and thereby “promoting satanism” so our slutty side wasn’t to be promoted at all lol. Luckily their interpretation of our lyrics wasn’t waterproof so I sang some reeeeeal dirty shit right under their noses hihihi. The brush with the state was a bit bizarre but worth it cause the people of Jordan me met there… out of words honestly how fantastic they we’re. We LOVE them dearly, best crowd and we just want to go back and play asap really.
Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?
Hard to say actually. We really love switching gears musically mid track so pretty much every one has some part you weren’t really expecting. We’ll let you decide…
Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?
We’ve been cursed with a slow process of recording and releasing. Those days however are through. Are new material is bat shit crazy in the best way possible and it’s coming soon. We LOVE IT. Also we want to play live a LOT so give us a call yeah
Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…
If you could pick an animal to mate with, which would it be?
Good question, Platypus hands down I have cravings for sonar powers and venomous elbow spikes.
